We absolutely loved our stay on the Queen Mary! We stayed here one night (10-27) for a pre-cruise stay, with our cruise leaving out of San Pedro. We had a Deluxe Room, 1 King (portside) and found the room to be very comfortable and clean overall. I will say, it’s on the slightly warmer side, but our portholes opened to allow for some airflow. Also, we had VERY obnoxious neighbors who were having some sort of party in their room until about 2a. Thankfully we were exhausted and slept mostly ok. The forward bar is fantastic, and we ate at the restaurant on the ship. We’d recommend skipping the restaurant and maybe trying the buffet, or catching an Uber somewhere nearby. Overall we just couldn’t say the food was worth the cost. Our biggest problem we found was the WiFi in combination with the inability to use our cell phones. The ship is a giant block of steel and wood, this certainly posed a challenge and even resulted in us having trouble coordinating our Uber even when stepping far outside and away from the ship. I think I’d skip this as a pre-cruise hotel in the future, unless I was cruising out of Long Beach (which is right there).

We’re on the Discovery Princess next week. I see the SNF game on the Movies Under the Stars screen listed in our JourneyView, but do you see the other Sunday games playing anywhere else on the ship today?

Yes, and the Discovery Princess will not be back in PV until Nov 1st. No need for adjusting any itineraries.

I don’t know if it has any kind of relevance, but when you go to Princess’ website, the deck plans give you a choice pre and post May 04, 2024. The deck plans look the exact same, but I wonder if this is indicative of the change ahead.

I’m really interested in finding out what cruise this is in reference to. We sail on the Discovery Princess on Oct 28.
