We did this tour last April. It was a chartered ferry as there were royal ships in port as well. Not sure how they come up with the timing, but I would say not worth it. By the time everyone boards ferry, you land on mainland, have to walk a bit to the tour busses, get everyone off the busses and then you have a decent walk to the entrance of the ruins which some do slower than other and you will be waiting for the slow pokes, they then make a bathroom stop at the tourist shops, etc. By the time you actually get into the ruins, you have barely enough time to take their guided tour and take some photos, then walk back out and pick up lunch to eat on the bus back to Playa del Carmen and catch the ferry. You will NOT have shopping time. I think we had 30 minutes of free time max in Playa del Carmen. So much wasted time.

Celebrity’s terms and conditions specifically state “Connecting staterooms are counted as different staterooms for this policy, except for minors sailing with their parents or legal guardians in adjacent staterooms. Adjacent staterooms are staterooms that are physically directly next door or directly across the hall – the doors to the staterooms have to be in the same hallway as one another.”

I just booked my first ever solo cruise - January 23 on the Summit. Went over to Roll Call and was really surprised that I could not find a roll call for a cruise that is only 7 weeks away. Looking at the number of posts on most Summit roll calls, it looks like traffic has really dropped off since pre-Covid days, when I last cruised. Part of that may be that the short Summit cruises out of Miami may not draw the usual frequent cruise crowd. But where else do people find groups posting for a cruise besides here on Cruise Critic? I looked on FB, and found a solo cruise group for X with one other passenger on my cruise, but no dedicated group there either. Thoughts?
