  1. They did it before, transitioned the programs. It was a disaster with both programs for me as I had to wait another sailing on each to move up but it worked for Celebrity and Royal. They could use the opportunity to push some passengers back again. I don't think it being a disaster would concern them much.
  2. The casinos are open while in port in Bermuda if the ship buys a license from the government. Cruises lines that call regularly like Celebrity buy the license. Your cruise to Bermuda where they were not open was likely before they instituted the licensing program.
  3. Celebrity serves a better lunch buffet at the regular stations on Labadee too than Royal. Royal usually is just hamburgers and hot dogs. Celebrity had those flat steaks they offer in the onboard buffet.
  4. Been there many times but only on Carnival owned brands, i.e. HAL and Princess. Carnival Corp financed the dock and port shops. It is not exclusive though. So if there is unbooked berths available other lines can dock there.
  5. One of the cruise lines I was on some of the bar servers would wait to run the tab until after the 3 miles. I don't know if they still do.
  6. If they get an offer for the ship they will sell her. Otherwise they will keep her a while longer. Does not matter about the recent work as it is minor. There are only three alternatives, sell, keep or the breakers and I don't think breakers is imminent.
  7. You can buy tokens or passes at the Visitor Information Centre with a credit card at the Dockyard. In Hamilton I don't know about the one in Hamilton or the Ferry terminal or bus terminal in Hamilton. They have announced digital fares are going to happen and it sounds like this year but no start date yet.
  8. And since almost everyone has a smartphone how is it detemined who is a vlogger unless the vloggers tell the cruise line? I think anyone has to be allowed to film and take photos but anyone vlogger or not who is disruptive in the way they do it can be asked to stop. One thing they could do is make a rule like they have at some sports stadiums. You can only use your smartphone to video. That limits disruptions as everyone has a smartphone so the vloggers would blend in. With a state of the art phone like for example the iPhone15 Pro Max which does excellent video and has ultra wide angle, regular and a 150mm tele lens the bloggers don't need anything better
  9. There seems to be a block. I continue to receive the regular Celebrity mailings but the Captains Club emails won't revive no matter what I try. The call centers people just give BS that they fixed it but nothing comes. In a couple of months I don't know what their criteria is for blocking the Captain Club and PUP emails is. It could be on purpose or bad programing. Probably bad IT but anythings possible.
  10. And to further expand, if Heidi isn't available, you can take what is called a Blue Flag taxi which is one that is specially licenced to give tours. This is the same classification that Heidi falls under. No, Heidi is not the same as a Blue Flag taxi. She probably has some kind of license from the government for tours as Bermuda seems regulate everything. Maybe it is a minibus tour license. Her vehicle is larger than a taxi. Taxis hold a max of 7. Her vehicle can an hold I think 14 but she takes a maximum of ten leaving empty rows. So that’s why I was thinking of her for the mobility scooter if she was available. If it is the right kind of mobility scooter, designed for travel that can be disassembled then possibly some blue flag taxis could handle it.
  11. I mentioned in some of the closed threads that Barbecue was not a gang leader in the way we might be visualizing. His intention seems to be to seize state power. His forces are still thugs but they have a political goal. To accomplish what he says would need support of from the Haitian people. I really have not seen evidence they have such support.
  12. Been on the Riviera Maya a few times and never saw armed guards patrolling the beach. Went to Tulum, Chichen Itza and Coba and didn’t encounter armed security gates. Took the shuttle from the resort to Playa Del Carmen and never saw armed guards. The resorts I stayed were fenced in and gated but I didn’t see any automatic weapons.
  13. The locals don't staff the Jet Ski excursion. I did it and it was two crew members from the shore excursion staff. One at the front and one at the rear. We went 20 miles down the coast. About as far as some historic site we saw from a distance on land. Saw some of fishing lines we had to avoid and one or two fishermen in very small boats that could hold a couple of people.
