I was looking forward to seeing QA in Southampton. Oh well, I will have to wait until Liverpool in June.

A lovely concert tonight at King Georges Hall in Blackburn with the Halle Orchestra. A Night at the Oscars. Highlights included West Side Story, Frozen, Star Wars, Titanic Schindler's List and Ben Hur.

I went to see Sir Karl Jenkins at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester today. An excellent concert including extracts from "The Armed Man".

Something to think about for 2026.

A damp day here, but no more work for me until Tuesday. Happy Easter to those celebrating this weekend.

I am due in Southampton on the 27th and boarding QV on the 28th. I am staying outside the city so I will have to wait until Sunday to see her (if I can wait and don't make a special trip into the centre).

I am just back from an eventful trip to Bognor Regis on the South Coast of England. Credit to Alfa the tour company for being efficient when things went wrong. The coach (bus) broke down on the way so we had to get a replacement for the list bit of the journey. 3 nice days at the hotel including a trips to Arundel, Chichester and Portsmouth. On the way home we had a tyre blowout, thankfully we were in traffic and not going very fast so we had to get a replacement for the rest of the trip. In total I had 6 coaches and 5 drivers. I got to see HMS Queen Elizabeth in Portsmouth, from a distance anyway.

I know she was in Liverpool but that was enough. Now I just need my invite to the ceremony.

I'll be there had already booked the day off.

I'm trying it for the first time in April/May.

We had snow here on Tuesday, the last of the ice has finally gone today. It was minus 6 on Wednesday night so we've had a taste of winter. Not a lot else to report here just plodding on and trying to make it to February 🙃

No invitation for me but on the bright side I can't go anyway as I'm on Queen Victoria.
