  1. They will get you in. The question will be when? We received a late credit for Sabatini's from our TA (I know, not quite the same). We were in a suite too (that helped). We spoke to the Assistant Manager about a reservation. He could "fit us in at x time on the last night. It was not our preferred day or time, but we were served.
  2. I just checked my app. It says Crooners. BUT I’ve been on the Caribbean Princess many times and it was always near the (former) cigar lounge (Deck 6) for a window suite/mid forward cabin. Same for Grand. Says Crooners when it was at the Crown Grill. You think? There’s some misinformation here? Not helpful to new passengers.
  3. I tried to convince Customer Service to allow me to use EZ Check in FLL. Delta changed my flight to 15 minutes before the cut off time. Granted this is a little different, but Port Everglades is minutes from the airport. I was denied. Not sure if Princess will ask for your flight information (after you book the excursion online). Just be sure to have a back up plan.
  4. Is this transfer part of the Hotel Captain Cook reservation package? Or did you just happen to book in the same hotel as Princess uses for their cruises?
  5. When you call Princess, ask to speak to a supervisor. DO NOT cancel your cruise until you are sure you can be assigned to her booking. Hopefully, it would be a lateral move and you will get back the difference (that you paid for your solo cabin). Ask if you can apply your Future Cruise Credit to your new fare. If you cancel for any reason, you most likely will be offered FCC minus your insurance cost. This would have been simpler to do if you were working with a travel agent. If this can not be done...Then wait until you get on the ship before asking to move to her cabin (or don't tell them that you will be sleeping in the accessible cabin).
  6. I am happy to hear that you were able to book her in an accessible cabin solo for only $200 more. That is rare to see that one was still available. I still don't understand why they couldn't move you over (if same category). It would have save you paying for a solo and her paying for a solo. Yes, they will be able to program your medallions to open both rooms (or give you a separate key card). I am not sure if the rules are different after final payment. But since you now have 2 assigned cabins... 1. Keep trying to see if you can cancel yours....(cancel for any reason) and get booked into hers. 2. It shouldn't matter where you sleep. You could possibly just move into her cabin. Then use your vacant cabin as a quiet get away spot (or extra bathroom).
  7. Is the accessible cabin also an inside AND the same fare? Do you have cancel for any reason insurance? Would it be worth cancelling and rebooking under her name?
  8. I am easily confused with a poor memory if not based on experience. My sister has been trying to get me on HAL in a FULL suite. I guess I will owe it to her since she is going with me in a FULL Princess suite. When I am with her...I will have her script out to me the differences. I really wish Princess and Holland American would not use suite in their descriptions if not really a suite. That goes the same for other cruise lines that use the term "Jr. Suite". Thank you for trying to educate me on HAL.
  9. My sister is a HAL Mariner. I am still trying to get a grasp on a Neptune Suite. From all accounts (my understanding), is that a Neptune Suite is not really a suite, but more likened to a Princess mini suite. You will get more perks in a Princess Grand Suite. The Diamond won’t have a lot of bells and whistles, but a smaller ship feel. HAL ports right next to the Yokohama Intercontinental Grand Hotel. Princess offers a free shuttle from Yamashita Park or a taxi ride. Princess will offer a paid shuttle into the city. Don’t know about HAL. Princess will have a destination expert presenting port lectures. Have you been to Japan before? I was there years ago and recently on the Diamond. I wasn’t interested in touring castles and shrines. You will have to weigh more ports/more excursions, verses stateroom choice. I’ve been told that the fall foliage in Japan can be spectacular. I hit Cherry Blossom time perfectly. Start looking for local guides. Japan has something called Goodwill guides for (sort of) free. Plan on spending a few days in Yokohama. Lovely city. Eat as much of the local foods as you can.
  10. Will all of your family members be in a suite(s)? 99% of the time, if your steward gets the laundry bag down to the correct station by 9 AM (you need to check the express box in the upper right hand corner), you will get it back in the evening. Safest to leave it on your bed for turndown service the night before. Everyone one says “first and last time” in a suite. You’ll be back.
  11. The Grand went into dry dock recently (April 2022 ?}. Much of it was cosmetic. The lamps have USB ports. I am not doubting your comparison between decks, but that does seem really odd. The difference between the Grand and the Ruby: The Grand has Alfredo’s and 400 less passengers. The staterooms and balconies should be similar.
  12. Are you currently booked as a single and wanting to add your sister? Are you working with a Travel Agent/PCP from Princess? I don't know how you could book her into a accessible cabin now...but have to wait via email to change cabins?
  13. There is a GF option. Speak to your Assistant Manager for details.
  14. You are correct, Premier has nothing to do with dietary wants. Yes, you may order as many appetizers/starters as you would like in the MDR. A little trickier for the specialty restaurants since you are "supposed to" choose one from each group. But, given the right waiter + being "really" nice, they may accommodate your modifications. A vegetarian/pescatarian cabin mate joined me at the Crown Grill. Obviously, it is a steakhouse. Cabin mate was able to get an extra servings of all the stuff that could be eaten (extra mushrooms, more asparagus, any available topping for the baked potato....etc). Similar at Sabatini's.
  15. Thank you @redtop101. After all these years, it still brings joy and happiness to me when I watch these Crew Directors doing what they do best. Today, I don’t think that department is as well manned. The CD position was divided into front of house CD and back of house ED.
