  1. If there are only two of you run. Get a cabin that can't accommodate 4 people. You will have beds on the walls that take up a bunch of space. I will never sail in one of these cabins. On the Princess site change the setting from Any to 4 and don't book a cabin that is highlighted.
  2. Many thanks to all who responded. I think I have my answer now so I will ask the mods to close this thread so it doesn't show up again 2 years later.
  3. It might depend on the particular ship. Not all Princess ships are the same... We have stayed in Caribe Deck balcony cabins on a number of ships. On the Grand Class they have an extra large balcony but on the Royal Class they have dinky little balconies. I don't know if a Riviera Deck cabin would be different from ship to ship but it may be important.
  4. I guess I could ask the officers point blank at the Meet & Greet. With over 150 cruise passengers in attendance I wonder what the answer would be...
  5. The only issue with asking for a second entree is that the meals are already plated and you are quite likely to get the entire meal a second time. The server doesn't care and will keep bringing you food as long as you ask for it. We have been seated at shared tables a number of times where a table mate asked for a second entree. (One used to be able to ask for a second lobster tail but the last time I did that I got the full meal and now I'm pretty sure Princess has started charging extra for that particular item.)
  6. Almost like a Duck Fart at the Red Dog Saloon in Juneau: Kahlua, Bailey's, and Crown Royal - layered and meant to be taken down as a straight shot. It's charged as a single drink and I can't imagine anything of the sort not being charged as a single drink anywhere. (I think the version you list as a B-52 sounds better though. I'm adding it to my list of "drinks to try" on our next cruise. THANKS!) Edit: The staff's favorite question at the Red Dog Saloon: When people see Duck Fart on the menu they ask, "How do you make a Duck Fart?". The favorite answer is, "Squeeze it!".
  7. Exactly my thought on the matter. Thanks for verifying. Pretty sure they broke us up as two couples - one in each couple Elite. Sounded a bit "odd" at the time. Perhaps it would fly in the past but, in the day of the Medallion, it seemed pretty "iffy" to me.
  8. Don't think I have ever seen this particular question addressed. I know what my first reaction is but I'm looking for the "real" answer. When we were Platinum we shared a priority tender ride with a couple who were Elite. At that time they said they were each allowed to bring one "guest" for the priority tendering so the 4 of us had an "in" and didn't have to get tickets and wait to be called. That "may" have been kosher at that time but we really don't know. I'd like to know if: 1.That was, at one time, kosher but no longer is acceptable 2. That never was kosher and we "got over" on the system 3. That is actually how priority tendering works and it is okay to do so today
  9. Not only are there still kiosks but, at least on our recent Grand Princess trip, the printout was on "real" paper rather than the horrible thermal print paper they use to have. It was a pleasant surprise. (It was especially pleasant when I looked at it and realized we still had over $600 refundable OBC left. 😁)
  10. Our first ever cruise was on the old Sea Princess in 2011. It took my wife years to get me to go on a cruise. The cabin was way forward and the first night out of SF on the way to Alaska was quite rough. The next day people were bouncing off the walls on the way to the buffet. The cabin (A323) was way forward and was tiny (I pretty much had to go out of the cabin to have enough room to change my mind...) Most inside cabins on Princess ships show a size of 162 sq. ft. on the deck plans. Our cabin on Sea Princess was 135 sq. ft. Despite the tiny cabin and the rough weather and the fact that I pretty much had to be coerced and dragged onto the ship to please my wife because I absolutely knew without a doubt that I would hate cruising, I got off the ship after the cruise and wanted to get right back on. An inside cabin, even a tiny one, can make for a great cruise.
  11. On every Princess cruise we did before the shutdown there were trash receptacles at every elevator bay. These disappeared with the restart. On our recent Grand Princess trip there were receptacles near the burger place and pizza place on Lido deck. They had trash / recycle openings.
  12. We recently did 63 days on Grand Princess. The first 31 days in an inside cabin and the last 32 days in a balcony cabin. Honestly, we had no issues at all with the 31 days in an inside cabin. Like you, we had wondered about an extended time in an inside cabin but it turned out to not be any problem at all. I say book the cruise and enjoy yourself. Note: @kbconthemove I know you said that you don't drink so this note isn't really for your benefit but, for anybody else wondering about an inside cabin, they should be aware that an inside cabin with the Premier fare is going to be cheaper than a Balcony cabin with the Plus fare.
  13. h Yes, if it is at the "link a cruise or voyage" thing it will never work so don't even waste time with it. Using the booking number to log in "should" work fine. If not he will need to call Princess and ask for the Medallion Team (or whatever that option is) and have it fixed.
  14. If you booked with the Premier Fare or the Plus Fare @$60 per day (the New Plus Fare) then Ocean Now delivery is included. If you booked Standard Fare or with the Plus Fare waaaaaaaaaay back when it was $50 per day (the Old Plus Fare) then Ocean Now is included if and only if you pay a one-time-per-cruise fee of $14.95. That gives the person who paid the fee and only the person who paid the fee Ocean Now delivery for the entire cruise. That person can, of course, order food and drinks for others but they will all be charged against the account of the person who makes the order. If you booked with the Premier Fare or the New Plus Fare Room Service is included even by phone. If you booked with the Standard Fare or the Old Plus Fare calling Room Service on the phone will incur a fee of $5 every time you call. No matter how you booked Room Service Breakfast using the hang tag for the door is included at no extra cost.
