  1. IDK about that. I've done a number of behind the scenes tour and on the last one someone asked about the different burgers. The head of the kitchen looked bewildered, the woman ask aren't their different hamburgers patties for the buffet, pool deck and Haven. He said no, we have one type of burger and we have thousands of them... who knows, maybe some ships get different patties?
  2. Thet don't weigh your bags at least our bags have never been weighed , I few times my 30 inch bag I used to carry my diving gear is close to 60lbs. I tip the porter accordingly or put the bag on the cart myself at the port
  3. I can't imagine how that would work. The food is cooked in front of people. I don't think they have a separate kitchen for cooking take out
  4. These are really good....... https://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/galaxy-desserts-almond-croissants/?pkey=s~croissants~37&sbkey=default
  5. My wife and I also arrive early. Our last 3-4 cruises we have driven to the port. Since I normally leave for work at 6am to miss traffic we do the same thing going to the cruise port. In NYC we try to arrive at 9am. I would rather be sitting in a terminal bored out of my mind than sitting in backed up traffic Lol
  6. My wife and I are in 10502 in June. You are free to use the balcony any time. At night your curtains must be drawn so no light shines onto the balcony. Their will either be instructions in the cabin or your butler will tell you what to do
  7. Problem with the little bath towels is the never dry out unless you put a fan on them.
  8. Might want to look at a forward or aft suite on the Gem. Same perks as the Haven with the exception of no use of the Haven courtyard or sundeck
  9. Add in two trips to Europe, three to Vegas, one to Tampa and Miami. Yup for the price its done really well
  10. We Coolife.... its been banged around for 7? years now and its still holding up will https://amzn.to/4cV6n1r
  11. Yup, we have bought or had spa passes a dozen times. I can count on one hand the times I have seen teens in there. Its a quite place
  12. On our 12 day on the Getaway in the Haven I order surf and turf minus the surf 3 nights. On two of those nights they brought me two filets without me asking
  13. I remember reading your review, it was great!
  14. We have sailed the Gem 4 times in the past (twice in a suite) and love the Gem. I like the size of it, has never felt crowded. We are passing on Thermal Suite passes this time around however I think its one of the nicer one's for the size. I love the Great Outdoors, probably one of my favorite places on the ship to have breakfast or lunch. We debated between the Joy and the Gem. NYC is only a 90 minute drive for us vs Boston is 5 hours, the Joy when we booked was cheaper. However is really wanted a smaller ship and are looking forward to at stop in Bar Harbor. This will be the last year NCL stops there unless something changes
