Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Yes, passengers in May and June this year have also received the upgrade email too. I am keen to know as we are booked before the Transatlantic in an S9 and the pricing hasn't changed yet.
  2. More details in another article: Its Alaska cruises will be bookable from 18 July 2024. ..... Attending the ceremony, Princess President John Padgett said Star Princess will ‘essentially be a twin to Sun Princess, ‘with a few tweaks’, adding: “It will be a slightly more refined Sun Princess.”
  3. Well unlike the Royal-class ships, the Sphere class funnels can apparently be lowered so they don't have to wait for low tide to depart from Vancouver.
  4. There was another announcement today amongst the Sun Princess christening excitement and Sanctuary Collection press release: Star Princess to sail to Alaska Also announced today was future plans for Star Princess, Princess’ second ship in its sphere class which recently has her first sailing delayed from 29 July 2025 to 26 September 2025. Veering away from the news of delays however was Vicki Johnson, the head of communications at Princess Cruises, who unveiled the news that Star Princess will sail to Alaska in 2026 after a debut summer in the Mediterranean and a season in the Caribbean.
  5. Dang, how confusing! Was hoping we could experience the suite experience before these changes kicked in.
  6. So from the FAQ, it seems the first Sun Princess voyage to be impacted by these changes will be the first US inaugural on 14th October? So the remaining European cruises and the Transatlantic this year will follow the current rules?
  7. I believe if you already have a booking in these staterooms then you should get everything added automatically except the Premier upgrade - "Guests who have booked as of April 23, 2024 already have reserved Sanctuary Collection staterooms on either ship will receive the additional amenities outlined at no additional cost, excluding the premier bundle".
  8. Waiting to hear some more details but the headline appears to be Princess announcing its first 'ship within a ship' concept - three levels of Sanctuary Collection suites with exclusive access to the top-deck retreat area, as well as private dining and relaxation areas.
  9. Here's the bottle for the Christening ceremony: And it appears a number of Elite guests got invited to the ceremony in the Arena:
  10. On port days yes, it does seem as if the MDR has a limited Express Breakfast menu: For Sea Days, it's more extensive:
  11. There have been a few Sun Princess recent ship tour videos (e.g. EatSleepCruise) which have stated The Sanctuary on Sun Princess is reserved for guests 16 or older.
  12. Giggled when I read on another site a comment from a suite passenger currently on Sun Princess that the crew call the scenic elevators "The Willy Wonka Elevators". I admit they do shake you around a bit but didn't quite have the same result as the movie! (I went for the original!)
  13. When we were on over Easter, there were different hours for sea and port days as follows: Horizons Dining Room Deck 6 Breakfast 7am to 9am Lunch 11:30am to 1pm - Sea Days Only Dinner 5pm (1st Seating) 7:30pm (2nd Seating) Horizons Dining Room Deck 7 Dinner: 5pm to 9pm Americana Diner Deck 8 10:30am to 2:30pm - Sea Days, 12:30pm to 2:30pm - Port Days 6pm to 10pm Reserve Collection Restaurant 7am to 9:30am 11:30am to 1pm - Sea Days Only 5pm to 9pm Signature Restaurant 7am to 9:30am 11:30am to 1pm - Sea Days Only 5pm to 9pm
  14. Fair enough. We only went once to try out their new cocktails and it said it was a Captain's Circle event so was unsure about suite guests. And the timing for us at the start of April was 3:30pm to 5pm - barely a pre-dinner event!
