Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Once I was on a Carnival cruise and was talking with a couple who were traveling with their grandson. They had something like a 2 star status (can't remember Carnival's status types), but their grandson had a 4 star. He was cruising separate cruises with each set of grandparents, and also with his parents. So funny!!!!o
  2. While you are on board, will you look around and see where the smoking areas are for regular (not Yacht Club) passengers? Is there anywhere to get a drink and smoke in the shade, out of the sun and rain?
  3. Can you tell me where the smoking areas are on the ship? Is there any place to get a drink and be out of the sun and rain?
  4. Can anyone tell me where the smoking areas are on the Meraviglia? Is there anyplace that one can get a drink and stay out of the rain and direct sun? The Davina had 2 decent smoking areas, and I am hoping there is somewhere nice on the Meraviglia. Thanks! /
  5. OK, just got back. There are two smoking areas that I found. One is on deck 15, port side, stern, at the Garden Bar. It has tables and chairs with ashtrays, outside, with no roof, so it gets sunny, and wet if it rains. The other was on deck 14, port side, midship, by the pool, under roof cover. Lots of tables and chairs and ashtrays. Bar service is available at both. They are pretty accommodating for smokers. I liked them.
  6. Try this: MSCVoyagersClub@msccruisesusa.com Be sure to put your matching documentation (Club ID #, and status level) in the email as an attachment. It worked for me.
  7. Questions about this Voyager Club "complimentary specialty restaurant "Tasting Menu" dinner per stateroom: My husband and I each have attained Diamond Status on Voyager Club. Do we each get a complimentary meal, or is it only one, since we are sharing the stateroom? What is the "Tasting Menu", and what restaurants does it apply to on the Davina?
  8. Where does the person think he/she is dining? Golden Corral? Yippee ay oh ky ay!!! Back in the golden days of cruising, dining in shorts would not even have been considered. However in these days of mega ships, multiple dining venues, dine "any time" options, and relaxed formality, I don't see a big problem with shorts on casual evenings. My main reason for taking a Davina cruise is to get to the ports, and I don't care much to dress up anymore.
  9. Are shorts ever allowed in the dining room on the shorter (4 night) cruises on the Davina? How about in the casino?
  10. Are any of the beaches at Ocean Cay easy access, like Half Moon Cay? I need to use my walking stick, and need a beach with little to no surf, no drop offs, not full of rocks, and hopefully close to a bar! Also, is there any place on the island that serves conch? I love conch fritters and conch salad, and intend to go to Fish Fry in Nassau, but would love another conch meal.
  11. Great! I'm on a 4 nighter. Thanks to all who responded.
  12. We will be sailing on the Davina in about 3 weeks. Does anyone know how full the ship has been recently?
  13. Can you tell me more about Ocean Cay and your experience there? I'll be going there in 3 weeks on MSC Davina, but do not have the Yacht Club. Do they get much more than the other passengers? Are there any beaches as easy to walk into as Half Moon Cay? I need to use my walking stick, so must have calm water, no rocks, and no drop offs.
  14. I looked at the Loyalty Match submission, and they require copy of the membership card and date of the program you are trying to match. I am a 4* Mariner on Holland America, but to the best of my knowledge, I have never been issued an actual card, and have no idea of a date. Any way to get around this?
