Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Take screen shots or print all of your confirmations for purchases. If it becomes a problem, you have your proof.
  2. Our experience in that cruise was very different. 2 couples traveling together. We were often at the Haven bar. It was crowded often, but there were only about 8-10 seats at the bar. We would sit in the lounge in the bar area and had great service. It was a little slow a times. We would move to the bar when seats opened. We thought the bartenders were great. We asked them to create special drinks based upon what we liked. Never disappointed. We did not use the concierge much. We did ask for assistance with getting into the shows and were told to go to the theater and look for the Haven sign. We did not have a problem getting great seats for Footloose or Elements. We thought Footloose was just OK. We enjoyed Elements more. We met our butler on the first day, and never saw him again. We did not ask for anything, but enjoyed the snacks that were delivered. We did not see our steward, but our cabin was clean and coffee pods were replaced. We enjoyed the Haven restaurant, as well as Food Republic, Ocean Blue, and Le Bistro. We did self assist debarkation and asked the concierge to take us down in the elevator. We were off of the ship in about 20 minutes total.
  3. If I understand correctly, Haven rooms earn double points toward Latitudes levels. We are traveling with another couple in a 2 bedroom Haven. Our names appear first on the booking. Will the other couple earn double points even though they will be the 3rd and 4th person? We took advantage of the sale where the 3rd and 4th person were super discounted. Thanks for the help!
  4. Thanks everyone! Our tour was delayed for a bit, various reasons, nothing terrible. We were so hungry by the time we arrived, we ordered a pizza about 20 minutes before we were expected to arrive. The delivery was had just gotten to the hotel, do the timing was perfect!
  5. There was a rep from NCL at baggage claim. We checked in and directed to a bus. Bus took us to the first hotel where we met our tour director ( John- who is fantastic). We were given a schedule. Everything is well planned. We were given the option to COVID test yesterday. Bus took us right to the testing site. 15 minutes after the test we got our results. We are currently in Homer for 2 nights. The bus will take us to the ship tomorrow. It has all been well planned and seamless!
  6. We will arrive in Anchorage around dinner time. Where do we eat? Looking at OEC Sushi, 49th State Brewpub? Glacier Brewhouse?
  7. Just landed in Fairbanks. Very smoky due to wildfires. Started by lightning, We were told they have had smoke for 2 weeks. Very little rain recently. Don’t know how much of the fire has been contained
  8. It is my understanding that there will be someone to meet us at the airport and take us to the first hotel. We have a transfer confirmation number that came from NCL in documents we received rom our TA. There should be someone from the tour company that will tell us what is required as far as testing and also to help facilitate whatever is needed. We purchased the "inspire" kit that includes a video proctor test. From what I understand, we will need to test before boarding the ship, but may not need to test before beginning the land tour. We'll be masking on the bus. I will try to remember to post again what happens on our tour. Things continue to change so fast. I am also a planner, but am trying hard to relax and be open to whatever happens. It's all part of the adventure.
  9. Our TA said that a test would not be needed until we boarded the ship as we are still in the US. She said there would be info sent from NCL shortly before we fly out to begin the land portion. Makes sense. I was wondering if we would have to test as well all be on a bus together. I’ll probably wear a mask on the bus.
  10. We begin our trip on land with the NCL tour and board the ship on July 4. Question for anyone who has done this trip recently- Did you have to present your negative test before beginning the land portion, or just before boarding the ship? TIA
