Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Please let us know what you find out
  2. Do you realize how small the pools are. I used to swim my lengths early morning and had to swim 50 plus the equal anything
  3. The Kowloon Shangri La is amazing and a quick walk or short cab if too many bags but well worth it. The Marco Polo is ok good food but I don’t like staying somewhere that is attached to a mall. To many people wandering through.
  4. We did this just as COVID was hitting and not closed down yet.We came in 3 days early and stayed at Westin which was walkable to V&A waterfront. First day took it slow from some jet lag, did Table Mt, next day waterfront and day before cruise did wine region. Most tours on cruise we booked private. After cruise we did a 4 night Safari in Kruger area on Singita property and it was amazing saw all big five 4 people in open air Jeep.
  5. Have done OWB twice and yes they are a wonderful experience but so is the ship and their marina. To pay that price to leave not check in to hotel room till 2 or 3 to pack up next day seems useless. It is up to you just my experience. Lost of snorkeling on your cruise and if you have a balcony you can watch the beauty outside.
  6. We booked private tours in all the spots some were short days other longer. I would say my husband and I would not have felt comfortable walking by ourselves. We have travel all over the world and walked various cities but other than Cape Town we went with a guide.
  7. Sorry for your loss you need time with less stress. We found when Regent owned the Gauguin people were cold and impersonal and cared more about what outfit the had on. Returned when P&G took it on by themselves and it was a complete change. Staff was warm and friendly so were passengers. Plan on returning in 2024 was supposed to when COVID hit as we did our 30, 40 and now 50 anniversary so it will be 52 when we do it. The snorkeling in Cook Island was amazing but weather for stop are hit and miss.
  8. Did the Cape Town round trip just before COVID shut down it was wonderful. After did a 4 day Safari in Singita/ Kruger and then up to Victoria Falls. Booked private tours during cruise.
  9. Unless this is new the Paul Gauguin does not got to those ports. I have done several and that was never offered.
  10. We used to always take power cords and never had anyone take away or comment
  11. My husband just got the B2varrient on a business trip that some were not wearing masks. He wore his N95 but still caught as your mask protects others their mask protects you. He is triple vaccinated and a cold never bothers him much. It is now 7 days he still needs an inhaler. We swim ever morning at 6:30 and walk 5 km as well as weights so he is very fit but it has taken him down and I am exhausted from keeping him in quarantine and bring food and drink up and down like he is in jail. Disinfecting is a production as I don’t want it I am an asthmatic and don’t want to find out it’s affect on me. After 35 cruises we are taking a break for a few years.
  12. Very disappointed the feeling that sets Azamara apart is the lack of class distinctions. This is not an all inclusive anymore. Feeling is it may turn devoted passengers off (my personal feeling)
