Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Must cost a fortune to heat your house. 😀
  2. After a couple years off, back onboard.
  3. I know it is not really significant, but I love the glass elevators on Vista (Noordam) and Signature class. I have to agree with other posts, for Alaska, the itinerary is big in the decision.
  4. I did this in July 2023 and it matched the description and photos. I would say the distance to walk was less than 100 meters (or 100 yards, your choice). Maybe even half that.
  5. As Crystal stated above, the HAL Deck Plan shows that 7006 is rated for two passengers. Note the circle on 7010 which indicates support for three passengers. I hope the image uploads.
  6. I had a Lanai room on the Maasdam. The sliding door to the promenade area had a powerful force closing it. You will not be able to leave that door open.
  7. One more item I recall, there was a small table for drinks on the verandah. And those on deck 11 are fully open to the sky, no cover above. It takes a couple minutes for your brain to absorb that difference from other decks.
  8. In Dec 2016, Eurodam VQ on deck 11 had two chairs on verandas. No footstool, as I recall.
  9. For the music player, HAL does not list any officially in Spa Veranda, but they seem to be present. A few years ago in Eurodam, my player was Bose and worked via Bluetooth. No cable problems.
  10. And soon afterwards, you notice that Kevin Bacon is standing next to you, enjoying the deck view. (Six Degrees of Bacon)
  11. Today, I do see the PDF links on the "My Cruise History" tab. Most do download, except for the second half of a B2B voyage, as someone mentioned earlier. However, I cannot download the PDF for my 2017 Trans-Atlantic on the Rotterdam, same problem as in the Navigator app. Not a big deal to be missing that one, which i do have in paper form.
  12. In Vancouver this July, I stayed in Pan Pacific hotel booked through HAL. As per the guide sheet, I visited the the HAL agent in lobby at 8:30 am and confirmed how many pieces of luggage would be in my room. The agent advised to proceed to the HAL check-in room at 10 am. At the HAL room entrance, no one asked about assigned times. They were looking for 4 star, 5 star or Neptune codes (none applied to me). During that morning, the only processing area with a line up more than 20 people deep was at US customs.
  13. Long ago, the iPod dock music player was replaced with a Bose music player that operates via Bluetooth. HAL does not list music player as a perk against Veranda Spa or Interior Spa rooms. But, when I had a Veranda spa on Eurodam in year 2017, the room did have a Bose music player (sounded great). I have also seen a recent internet video that showed the Bose player in a Veranda Spa room (forget which ship).
  14. Pre-Pandemic, HAL put me and a bunch of other Trans-Atlantic cruisers into the Rotterdam Hilton. The hotel is located next to a traffic circle with transit trains zooming through.
