Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thanks. I've done meet and greets on Princess for groups but have no experience with RCI. Do you know if it's possible for me to set up a meeting space for an hour or so 2-3 times during a cruise?
  2. I have never cruised with RCCL. We are looking at getting around 50 (ages 2-85) for our reunion next year. As a result, any help here would be greatly appreciated! 1.) Not sure how easy it is to find a TA who specializes in groups. Does this make a difference vs any TA? 2.) I am thinking that we will need 15-20 cabins. I can go on the website for approximate costs but am unsure what perks (i.e. free cabins, OBC's) will be available to obtain realistic pricing. 3.) Will Royal set aside a meeting space for at least for a meet and greet on embarkation day? How about other days on a 5-7 night cruise? I have no issues doing the legwork. Knowing the family from past experiences (hotel reunion), it will likely fall on me. Thanks
  3. Not a surprise. Since they are very thin, it's easy to break one, too. I made the mistake of having one break in my hand, while drying it at home.
  4. Seems like Princess is not keeping up with the times except when it comes to increasing prices. The latest BF/CM sale (?) was a joke. Maybe it's just me, but reading CC boards and following some cruise vloggers, other lines are making some nice changes to their brands. IMHO, Princess seems to trying to be the new HAL, with HAL going in the right direction.
  5. Been watching a Caribbean cruise for February and Princess raised the price today. It will be interesting what the "sale" will actually yield tomorrow.
  6. We have walked off at the first opportunity, picked up an Uber/Lyft, and arrived at the airport by 8:30. As always, YMMV.
  7. Some great insights here. Thank you! Zoom calls are a great idea, as we're in multiple states.
  8. Great point. Since no one on this trip would be an avid cruiser, we may be able to get better pricing on a smaller ship.
  9. Working on a family reunion cruise in 2023, up to 50 in attendance ranging in age from 1 year to 80. Any insights on why I should choose Royal Caribbean (i.e. cost, perks, etc.) Experiences with reunion cruises would be greatly appreciated!
  10. Thank you for all your feedback! While I am not a fan of RC Oasis class ships, they offer the bells and whistles that the group will likely enjoy. Will definitely book via a TA. I have never been on RC and don't know if the TA's I've worked with in the past can provide a decent price. Not worried about the $$$ myself and would spread and savings out over the group. I know this is a thankless job but somebody's gotta do it! 😀
  11. I will definitely book with a TA. Not concerned with the cost for us but other family members are a consideration. RC may be a better fit. I have been on Carnival and NCL Does anyone know if they give a free cabin with 8?
  12. Really runs the gambit; 90% have never been on a cruise before. 20 under the age of 10 (to infants age); a couple of teens, a few singles in late 20's/early 30's, 12 adult parents in 30's, 10 grandparents over 60...Can't do Disney because of the cost. I imagine that since I am nor getting any "Princess secrets" (i.e. special provisions (like a free meeting room), something special for the cruisers, etc.) I should pretty much stock to a line with a lot of variety and multiple varieties of staterooms. Thank you again for your replies. Not finding a lot via my searches.....
  13. Thanks for your reply. Did you find any benefits specific to Princess with your family reunion? I guess what I'm looking for is any real advantage/benefit from one line over another. Does any line provide any edge/perk over another or is it typical of someone doing a normal booking? We are Elite with Princess and have experience with Carnival, NCL and Celebrity; just not with such a large group.
