  1. To clarify as to service. We also find the crew to be one of the best things about Viking. But most recently, as nice as crew was, they seemed short handed on numerous occasions. No one would admit that there have been cutbacks to the number of crew onboard.
  2. I agree with you about post covid. But it's about time to quit using that excuse don't you think? Why can't we get back to good service, hard work, and quality products? And yes, food and service definitely not as original and in a negative way.
  3. I have never, in a long "career" sailing on cruise ships, ever seen any cruise line stay the same. Unfortunately they seem to all fall into the "bigger is better" mantra and move away from what originally made them so successful. In 8 years sailing Viking we have seen notable changes in food and service. Still good but not the Wow! of the first voyages. Our next two bookings are on Explora Journeys and Scenic Ocean. Both new lines with good reviews mostly. But then back to Viking for a couple of river cruises. As has been said many times before, the only constant in life is change. We just go with what works at the time.🍸
  4. World cruises "follow Summer" more or less. We have never needed heavy gear or boots. Nothing more than a light jacket or maybe a sweater. You start out in the Southern Hemisphere soon after leaving the West coast and it is their Summer. When you cross the equator northerly it is usually well into Spring on the Northern side. Finish nearly into our Summer.
  5. A good guide can make all the difference, They tell you stuff you would otherwise not learn from signs and labels, etc.
  6. War Rooms are a true highlight. You might be thirsty after so up the steps, walk King Charles Street and through the arch, across the street to the Red Lion Pub. You might be rubbing elbows with MPs or other famous drinkers.....🍺
  7. Viking is way more mature than Carnivorous.🍸 Try and bring a bottle of wine on Carnival and they throw you in the brig....
  8. Not that I have seen. As to wireless, only our iPhones would benefit. All the other stuff still needs the tangle of wires...
  9. As WineWineWine linked there are very cheap USB-A to USB-C adapters as well as USBC to USB-A adapters on Amazon. Take up almost no space in a computer bag and you are covered for all options. USB-C is the new one and is the standard demanded in Europe so Apple had to drop their proprietary Lightning connector. Nothing simple these days. Used to buy books at the used book store and watch tv with no remote.....😱
  10. Right you are. The C ports were new to us on Neptune. Other V ships we have sailed are as the pictures with A ports on the bedside.
