Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thank you Scottishclover that is very helpful. It seems only table seats are available. To get a forward facing seat ... the direction of the train is to the right of the page? - so I am looking for a seat with a shaded rounded corner to my left ...with the shaded corner representing the back of the seat?
  2. There is only one direct train that will get me to the port for my embarkation time so I would like to book my seat early. There are several options - regular or first class, super saving/savings/flex, reserve a seat - compartment, table, or open saloon, and more than one seller for tickets. I want to make sure I have a seat and that I can keep an eye on my luggage - no other preferences. I am also wondering if the train station in Warnemunde is near the port used by MSC. Is there someone here that can offer advice on what is the best ticket option? TIA
  3. Knowing it is just after midnight from your Departure time zone and not your home time zone was new to me and key to getting the check in time I wanted. 😀 Thank you
  4. Check in for my cruise opens on August 1st. I am on Eastern Daylight Savings Time. What time of the day does check in open online ? TIA
  5. Thank you both for responding. Knowing the hotel is beyond the fixed tarriff and that we need a large van ... settled the issue for us. I really appreciate the helpful advice that is given on cruise critic.
  6. I will be staying at Crowne Plaza Rome-St Peter's. Four of us will be looking for transportation to the hotel. The hotel has a shuttle service at designated times - 2 hrs apart. - 85 Euro for a minivan for the 4 of us. Would it be any easier or cheaper to just find a taxi that can accommodate 4 people with luggage? We would like to be on our way as soon as we clear customs etc. Any concerns with doing this when none of us speak Italian? TIA
  7. Ship sails at 5 pm. I want to book my transfer to the port early to ensure this company can accomodate us. I can try to change the time given should the cruiseline not be able to secure the time slot we request ....but the transfer company makes it clear a change is only possible if they have an opening. Looking for advice from those who have cruised in this area post pandemic .... what should be our target embarcation time?
  8. Will be arriving in Rome mid September, 2 days before cruise. My roommate has visited the traditional sites - vatican, colosseum, and food tour etc and not one for art galleries. I know there is more to Italy and Rome but having difficulty finding info in guide books and trip advisor. Limited to public transit but willing to travel to other areas. We are open to any and all suggestions. (Personally I like all things that deal with animals, gardens - particularly dahlias ... and a nice beach if weather is warm.)
  9. The ship shore excursion "Oia on Your Own" had a warning for those who suffer from motion sickness. Did you find this a difficult bus ride?
  10. We are in port for 12 hours but the NCL Dublin HOHO bus with transfer excursion is only for 2hrs - 8:30 am to 10:30 am. To stay on the HOHO Bus without getting off takes 90 min to do the route. I called NCL and there are no options for a later transfer. So ... I am looking for advice on how to get back to the ship on my own so I can see more of Dublin. This is a tender port so leaving at 8:30 would allow for an early start to the day. Hoping someone who has taken this excursion will share their experiences. (Cross Posting with NCL board)

  12. Thank you. E505 is between the lifeboats so there are metal posts. I am not sure how much they are blocking the view. I am really impressed with the link you included and how the lifeboats go below the view of the balcony once at sea. Not really obstructed at all. Might be a better cabin than E505.
  13. Would anyone have a photo of the view from cabin E505 from Sky Princess they could post along with any comments on how you found the room and location? TIA
