Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Help with Charles DeGaulle Airport -Cus Our transatlantic lands at CDG and it looks like we have to pick up our checked baggage and go through customs before we can get on our flight to Copenhagan. Any tips on how to navigate this quickly so we can catch our flight out?
  2. Does HAL offer any special deals once on the cruise for laundry or thallosotherapy pool use better than what we would get by buying before the cruise?
  3. Looking at the RCI site for planning a cruise, it shows there are "deck changes" prior to our May 2nd cruise, but it doesn't show what they are? How can I find out?
  4. The deck plan shows it has one on Deck 6. Do they still do morning and evening snacks there? I know I can get drinks at any bar, but we've always liked hanging out in these lounges for the camaraderie.
  5. Thanks for the follow up! I love that you bought something from local artists!
  6. soccermom4... Hope you're still following this post. Just saw your info on the self-guided walking tour in Nassau that you planned on doing on a recent cruise. Did you do it? Tips and suggestions on what you learned?
  7. The quicker the restaurant mgr hears about an issue, the quicker it will be fixed. You don't need to make a big scene, just gently explain the problem. The next diners will get a better meal as a result.
  8. When you played bingo there was at least 1 guaranteed cash winner per game. D/D has winners of casino play, no cash. Correct? Does each round of D/D have a guaranteed winner or only a "you could win"?
  9. In reviewing the deck plans, I saw separate locations for Destination Concierge and Shore excursions and then a place for Captain's Club and one for Future Cruise Consultant. What services do each of these desks provide? To me they sound overlapping.
  10. We're booking the ship's tour for Bimini to Paradise Beach that includes the chair, umbrella and the "free" tram. Pre-book discount was $61.98 for the two of us. Regular price was $36 pp. We figure as a ship's tour we'll get first priority for the tram and beach location.
  11. Where is the Thalassotherapy pool located? I was hoping this ship had one! We love them. On past cur cruises we used it daily. Great for the skin. The description of the Persian Garden didn't include this pool. Is it open to all guests? Where is it located? What were the menu special options on the first "chic" dinner night? What was the best entrée and appetizer you had on board? What are the food options like at Cafe Al Baccio? Did they have live music nightly around the dinner times at the lounges? We're boarding in 2 weeks and it's been quite a while since we've been on Celebrity and appreciate all the details you've provided.
  12. We've been to the Hemingway museum and Truman White house, had our picture taken by the mile marker and saw the lighthouse, had conch fritters, saw the sponge market (and the one in Tarpon Springs), walked around Mallory Square and Duvall St. Which is better - the shipwreck treasure museum or the maritime museum? What about the Mangrove Kayak Eco Tours - are they going to be really buggy (going there in Sept)? Our ship offers one Catamaran Sail and Snorkel tour. How do the reefs look in Key West these days? Will you still see a large assortment of coral and fishes? Can I walk through the Casa Marina Resort & Beach House? I love classic older hotels. Is it an easy walk from the port?
  13. Our last cruise was in January of this year on RCL and we booked our Celebrity cruise while on that one to compare. So I have some questions... We'll be driving to the cruise an arriving around 1 pm. When do they release cabins so we can drop our bags? Are any specialty restaurants open for lunch on embarkation day? What's the max price point for the "all included" drink program? And can I get champagne and martinis? Are there any prizes for trivia? If I order one of the steaks or lobster fee options in the MDR, is the same as what I'd be getting at the specialty restaurant? How early do you have to arrive for the evening shows to get a seat? What are the best shows to see? What's the best menu item that I shouldn't miss having on the cruise? What do you enjoy most about cruising with Celebrity?
