  1. I usually send it as soon as I book. If it’s too far in advance I try to send it before final payment, if I remember. I just like to do everything I can to try to make sure that I stay safe.
  2. You have to ask for it. Just let them know that you have either an allergy or intolerance and let them know what you want on your pizza.
  3. I always send the email, I add the info into my profile in the app and then I talk to them on the ship. You have time to do that if you want to. You do you.
  4. I just read the article that you posted the link to. I had not heard about that. That’s awful! I once went to outback steakhouse and I ordered a steak. I let them know about my dairy allergy and I also repeated it a few times. When I received my steak, it looked really shiny so I asked if there was butter on it. I was told no, no butter. I refused to eat it, and the person I was with was kind of getting upset with me. I let it sit on the table and 10 minutes later they came running up to me and told me that the cook had melted butter on my steak. What if I would had eaten it? I am not anaphylactic. I have a rare allergy called FPIES and I could possibly go into shock. You always have to ask 10 times and then ask 10 times more… and then say a prayer 😂.
  5. They want to be notified ahead so they can alert the ship. May I ask when your cruise is?
  6. I also take photos of their faces and name tags. I totally agree with you that we need more than five spaces because there are a lot more amazing employees than that that make our cruises special.
  7. Oh, that’s terrible. Cross-contamination? So far I have been lucky with my dairy allergy. Of course, we are always safer in the MDR or at Gigi’s/Alfredos. They make pretty good cheese free pizza.
  8. I’m pretty sure they did not get a response to an email sent to the wrong email address. I always send an email to the dietary department and then I talk to them once onboard. You are correct that everything always needs to be questioned. Food allergies stink.
  9. Yes, allergies should be listed in the app but an email also should to be sent to the Princess dietary department.
  10. I’m allergic to dairy, will you please tell me how being flexible works?
  11. I have a rare dairy allergy called FPIES. Princess takes excellent care of me. If you do book a cruise send an email to this email address. In the subject line write Food Allergies. In the body of the email list passenger name, cabin number, sail dates, ship name, and explain the allergies or intolerances. When you arrive at the MDR, let them know about the allergies. They will have someone talk to you and each night you will place an order for the following day so the meal can be specially prepared allergen free. If you are in the buffet ask to speak to the head chef. The chef will walk the line with you and let you know what is free of the allergens. If you are worried about cross-contamination then ask the chef if something can be made. Just like any land-based restaurant, always be prepared in case of an emergency. I feel safer dining on a Princess ship than I do at any land based restaurant.
  12. I think I’m the one that gave you the email address and let you know what to include. I’m so happy that they responded right away. Please post and share how everything went. Enjoy your cruise!
  13. You can order appetizers if that’s all you want. You do not have to order an entrée. I have a dairy allergy and they have me place my order the night before. You will see the whole menu and they will let you choose what you want. People sitting near me always want to see the menu and they usually end up passing it around. 😊
  14. If you have time please post and share how they handle food allergies in the American Diner. I am allergic to dairy and I would love to be able to order some thing when I arrive instead of the day before. It’s hard to always guess what I will be craving the next day.
