Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Looking for a good beach for a girls trip. 4 moms on a 3day cruise with a stop in Nassau. Just looking for a nice beach/ocean to relax and get drinks at.
  2. Thanks for sharing I was wondering if it worked like this. NCL is the same way
  3. Booked on an Alaskan cruise on this ship so came for all the Crown pics.... food porn pics are always a plus too! Im originally from San Pedro its my childhood hometown. So when I saw the Double Tree I laughed... nothing has changed. And sadly thats the better of the hotels in town LOL. Thanks for sharing!
  4. Thanks for sharing. I am doing an Alaskan cruise so came for the pics of the ship (and food porn is always great to see also!) Going in with low expectations of this ship. Also had to laugh as Im originally from San Pedro, its my childhood hometown!
  5. Sunset pics on the aft deck 8 Sunrise pics from the Observation deck sitting in a lounger drinking a mimosa (is that too specific LMAO) Partake in the pool games. our sailing no one wanted to it was sad, the same 1-2 people did them.
  6. We cruised the Panama Canal to Miami sailing and it was NOT open on disembark day. I didnt see any bar open actually. So I drank my sadness away at the airport LMAO
  7. Ship -ENCORE Deck - 14 Stateroom # - 14758 Stateroom Category – Family Balcony Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – for the most part yes. the flush of the bathroom did get us going in the morning from both neighbors and above us at the observation deck. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - no Balcony View - This room gives you a bit extra space on the balcony. It has an added angle thus allowing you great views toward the bow of the ship. Which was great on one morning where dolphins were spotted. On the flip side you might get more views of your neighbors then you wanted! Overall we loved having the extra room. We didn't feel cramped and allowed us to lounge out there more. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Oversized (by a bit) Was wind a problem? - Never. Any specific problems with this cabin? - besides hearing the flush of toilets above us and maybe seeing more of your neighbors than intended.... we would gladly book this room again. Any other comments? - Ive attached pics. not the greatest views but hopefully it will show the size of the balcony and angle of extra room. Happy Sailing!
  8. So sorry for your loss. we had Maye also in Cagneys and she was a doll!
  9. If you can just text and are an iPhone (not sure if it works for Samsung) but using just the free Wi-Fi like for the app. You can send text. We checked in with family everyday via text (iPhone to iPhone) without having to log into our Wi-Fi minutes. Might be an option to alternate with calls or Wi-Fi in ports.
  10. We were on this sailing and it was a sh!t show from the moment we docked there. Crew didn’t know where to set up the normal dock stuff (towels, pop ups etc). They had buses that needed to take you on and off the pier as the port center is still being built and a full on construction site. we left day one around 9am and they as others have said only allowed 2 people at a time. It was steep and bouncy. Let alone it was raining so also slippery. All I thought when I got off was we’re in our 40s and this was unsafe. How will it be for those in their 60s and up. This ship was majority age 60 and older. Many in scooters and wheelchairs day 2 we knew we needed to leave asap to catch our excursion since it took so long to get off the day before. Again it was a bouncy ride off the gangplank and I’ve never held on to it so tight. At 730am there weren’t many others getting off so we were the only ones on it. when we got back around 4pm we didn’t put the 2 and 2 together that the bouncy gangplank was down. Just figured since we were leaving soon they were getting ready. But we did notice 3 ambulances. Again with an older cruise clientele we thought nothing of it as someone was taken off in Guatemala. wasn’t until I got in the elevator did a couple asked if we saw it fall. We were puzzled and she said the gangplank. I said no the bouncy one. Yup. We ran to our balcony room on 14 and then noticed the gangplanks condition along with people being loaded into the ambulances one gal from our cruise roll call on that site that can’t be mentioned here. States they were involved on it and thought sore and bruise they denied going to the hospital because NCL couldn’t give them an answer on what the care plan was. And if they were ok where they would be taken to meet up with the ship… so they stayed on and NCL gave them a fruit basket… 🙄 overall this port should not be utilized. Or at least not in this way. The huge tour busses on this pier gave me anxiety over the 5 pt turns they needed to make and any wrong turn or step of the gas would have sent us all overboard. The 20mins it took to get out of the cruise site was horrible as it was all dirt/mud to drive thru. Honestly 1 day here was bad but 2 days was ridiculous in the condition this port was in.
  11. taking note of all the Alaska parts for when we eventually book one!
  12. Will enjoy following until we join ya for the PC portion! Have fun! Hope to meet ya on board at some point!
