Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I don't know if it is unlocked when not being used, you could probably ask at Guest Services. Do know that there is a daily Friends of Bill W meeting, usually around 3, that uses the chapel.
  2. If you enjoy jazz, don't miss Take 5 - hopefully, the James Faherty Trio is still playing, they were awesome! Each night was a different "era" or style of jazz, so not a lot of repeats. Several members of the House also played a couple of nights, excellent, too.
  3. Also check out the Ports forum here. Plenty of posts about tours that folks have taken!
  4. I think it's because those cabins are held for those who have 3 or 4 people, then released when they don't fill up.
  5. @bandp407 if you booked a "Deluxe Balcony" apparently those are all Guarantee rooms for some reason. You said you booked through a big box agency - if you wanted a "non-Deluxe" stateroom, you should have been able to choose it. We were on Enchanted in February for a B2B - had booked a regular balcony initially the year before. When we decided to add the other leg last fall (due to cancellation of another cruise) the only available option was Deluxe Guaranteed (with a good fare) so we took it. Ended up for that leg with a Deluxe on Dolphin deck, with the bigger balcony!
  6. On our Enchanted B2B in February we missed Princess Cays both times. The port tax of $67 or so was applied as OBC to our folio by the next day each time. We also missed Dominica, that port refund was about $8, so it really varies depending on the port!
  7. OMG, we were on Enchanted in February and LOVED Take 5 and the Jazz trio that was there! The House band (or at least some of them) also played a couple of nights and were good, too. There were always a lot of people in there, seemed to be a hangout for the officers, too. And the bar staff was great! Different strokes for different folks, I guess...
  8. we did a B3B on Enchanted in February, in two different cabins. The first was a deluxe balcony and the bed was very comfortable. The second was a regular balcony and that bed definitely was softer and more saggy. My husband wondered if a "plus-sized" cruiser had been in the room before us! Good to know that you can ask to have the mattress flipped, will try to remember that.
  9. Frkiends gave us a couple of magnetic utility hooks - they went on the wall right after the closet area and medallions were hung on them as we walked into the room. I suppose you could put them on the back of the door to really make sure you don't forget them!
  10. See the recent post about "New Dining Room Changes Coming Fleetwide?"
  11. I wonder if they've found that offering everyone a variety of set times to reserve just wasn't working out? We had 7:00 reservations on the Enchanted in February, and the first two nights had a LONG line of people with a 7:00 time. After the first night, we were able to book our same table for the rest of the trip, but had to move to a 7:15 time. Hopefully, this will be more efficient. I also remember that on our last cruise pre-Covid, when it was still Traditional or Anytime, besides the aft DR being Traditional, there was an Early seating in one of the mid-ship DRs, that became Anytime around 7:00 or so.
  12. It's been YEARS since there was anything in the fridge!
  13. Sounds like a wonderful event! Funnily, my daughter and her family went to friends in Carmel and had an awesome view of the eclipse there 🙂
  14. @Nemanoxer, if you have liked the Solstice class ships on Celebrity you might try a Royal class on Princess - unless you are thinking of going on the Sun because of itinerary. Re the "extras," we were on a B2B (10 days each) in February, did the Standard package. Due to the OBC we had (some of it due to missing Princess Cays each time) our final bill was way less than what we would have paid for the Plus upgrade! I was going to also mention the Military OBC tha Princess does, but I think that's only for U.S. passengers...
  15. To answer your question about the dining rooms - there are 3 MDRs (2 midship and one aft on 6). Their decor is slightly different, but basically all are the same. If you want to splurge for a birthday dinner, see if you can book the Chef's Dinner (held a couple of times during the cruise) or even the 360 Experience. Also, for a fee, and if you have a balcony, there's the Ultimate Balcony Dinner -- wonderful! I'll leave it to others to address your other questions.
