  1. Thanks for the history lesson, but I still don't get how it relates to my comments about not wanting Easter to become the spending frenzy / major stress etc that Christmas is....
  2. On our cruise ironically we thought the same as you as that were so many loud southerners, but on one night in the Epicurean there was one party from the North who were so loud the whole restaurant revolved around them. It seemed to be people from all over the UK. What is wrong with people? Do they not have manners or think of others ?????
  3. Oh, please God, no ! Easter is by far our favourite festival and love it because it is not so commercialised. Can live with my Easter Egg and the chicks and lambs etc etc, but let's not turn it into the frenzy that Christmas has become ...... imagine doing all that again twice a year in terms of the Christmas 'mayhem' ....
  4. Am going to say this and duck for cover but if people are really struggling I find it odd that they spend thousands on a cruise. What exactly does struggling mean? It should mean having what you can afford and not what you want but in today's world I don't think it does. I want to go on a Celebrity Edge cruise again but we can't afford the prices they are charging at the moment. Does this mean that Celebrity need to dumb down their offer for me? Sadly no .. we have to save up and see if our circumstances change.
  5. To be honest, from experience, not a lot. Can't comment on the children's stuff but can't remember there being much at all on our 2 Easter cruises. There has been a Sunday morning service in the theatre led by the Captain with a few traditional hymns. One was 'Those in peril on the sea' ------ have to smile, it made us chuckle ! Nothing really special - I suppose in the UK Christmas is seen as the main festival, not Easter. Easter in the UK is, for most, just Easter eggs, Easter bunnies and .... errrr ... a nice weekend break (and fingers crossed that the weather will be good). P&O just follow this format in that Easter isn't that big a thing for them ---- If that makes sense.
  6. The weather may not be wonderful but the sun came out today to say hello and the views from Rhos on Sea and now Llanddulas were and are stunning. From lovely North Wales.
  7. Thanks for this, it is really interesting. Our first cruise was on OV2 - I thought that OV1 was like a car ferry?
  8. Well, we've had windy weather, sunny weather, pouring rain weather, the sun is out and the sky is blue weather ... and now it is hailing .... Am trying to work out which month we are in 🥴
  9. Yes but you need to be more careful than anyone as we know where you live and what your car looks like 😀
  10. I am still scarred emotionally from the time they sold her ... but I'll be nice to you as you are new :-). Just don't mention baked bean tin cans ...........
  11. Beauty is in the eye of beholder ...... and if I remember rightly there were TWO ugly sisters anyway so your comparison doesn't work...... 😉
  12. In shock here today --- the sun is out and the sky is blue ........
  13. Can we have a whip round for Oceana please ............. 😞
