  1. @DaniDanielle Marietta- Your RJ has written so genuinely about the feelings that he has experienced since the loss of his Dad. It is so good that he has family, friends and educators who have surrounded him with love and support. Wishing him and all your family many blessings.๐Ÿ’ MJ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป
  2. @BonTexasNY Hoping your surgery goes well and that you will be feeling fine soon. MJ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
  3. Terry robes were very good. Slippers were useless, flat and flimsy . I always pack a pair of flip flops for DH and myself to use as slippers in the cabin as well as going to the pool. The binoculars werenโ€™t very good either. This was our last experience on Summit June 2023. Aqua cabin. MJ
  4. @firefly333PS-If you are looking for white paint-Benjamin Moore Decorator White is a soft white-not hospital white. MJ
  5. @Ozark_Kid Kenzie made a lovely birthday greeting for Dani! I am sure it put a smile on her face as well as so many seeing your post! Happy St Patrickโ€™s Day to you and your family! โ˜˜๏ธ Happy St Patrickโ€™s Day to all on Daniโ€™s thread! โ˜˜๏ธ MJ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
  6. On the subject of painting-a number of years ago, I had a small room we use for an office painted red with white trim. I like red. A month ago, I had a painter come by to give me an estimate for painting the room. He looked it over and asked what color I wanted to paint the room. He had a querulous look on his face. I replied-red, of course! He was so relieved! One coat of Benjamin Moore Dutch Tulip will be fine! If we ever put the house up for sale, I suppose we will have to paint the room white, grey or beige-whatever neutral is in style. For now, I am pleased with the red! MJ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
  7. @firefly333 Not a certified decorating expert, but , I have done three kitchen redos and furnished our house and a condo a few times also. I think you have to go with one element in the kitchen-in your case, I would choose the countertops since you are not planning to change those. It looks like there are grey tones in the countertop, so I would go with a very light grey or a white tinged grey. I think Fluer de Sel is a good choice. It would also compliment stainless steel appliances if that is what you are replacing the appliances with, getting rid of the 80โ€™s almond color. As for the cabinets- you may consider refacing them instead of replacing them. If the interior shelving and frames are good, it is a fairly economical way to update the kitchen. Darker grey cabinets are being shown now. Or. if you want something classic, white cabinets are always a choice. Or, you could mix up the cabinet colors-tops one color, bottoms another. Or, if there is a peninsula or island, the cabinets could be another color than the wall cabinets. We had the cabinets in the FL condo refaced through Home Depot. They did a very good job and the process from choosing the doors etc to installation was fairly easy. This was done in 2013- things may have changed, but I would give them a try. They have consultants in store to help you make design choices. Good luck!Post photos if you can -I enjoy seeing other peopleโ€™s projects-easier on my pocketbook! MJ

  9. Princess does some nice NE-Canada cruises out of Red Hook Brklyn. Some itineraries include Quebec. We have been on the NCL Breakaway twice. I do not recommend that ship. Fool me onceโ€ฆ,fool me twiceโ€ฆ -just sayinโ€™ MJ๐Ÿ™Ž๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

  11. @Ocean Boy Not grumpiness and not a rant. You are honest in what you posted about the present state of medical care. You may have given up alcohol for Lent, but there is always a walk on the beach for stress relief ! ๐Ÿ˜‰ MJ๐Ÿ™Ž๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
  12. @Ozark_Kid Kenzie is adorable! Thank you for the photos and videos. A day brightener, for sure! MJ๐Ÿ™Ž๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
  13. Re:With Jardiancec and, possibly,Metformin, the commercials note that patients loose a certain amount of weight combining medication with diet and lifestyle changes. Obviously, a patient cannot remain on a high caloric diet, take the medication and expect great changes in weight. MJ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
  14. @Jimbo Replying to your post about your recent A1C results. Twelve years ago, after being in FL for 7 months, redoing a condo, I had an A1C of 6.3. I had never had such a reading. What my Dr and I attributed to was stress dealing with the redo and being away from home for 7 months, a diet of fast foods and frozen dinners as we didnโ€™t have a stove/oven for quite awhile during the kitchen redo part and my overindulgence of chocolate candies as I am a stress eater. I consulted a nutritionist who advised me about counting carbs and making good food choices. Within six months I had lost about 20 lbs and my A1C went to 5.7. It has hovered around that number for quite awhile until this past Winter , after the holidays, I had a reading of 6.0! My Dr and I discussed me paying more attention to carbs and consistently doing daily exercise . I will have another A1C in June and I am confident that the number will be back in a better range. My advice- Seek input from a nutritionist. Carbs are not only in sweet foods. They are in almost everything-fruits, veggies, pasta etc. Increase exercise if possible. Give up booze or at least cut consumption of it down. Personally, I would not use any supplement without trying to reduce your weight with good food choices and exercise/activity. Supplements and medications always seem to have pluses and minuses for our health. Wishing you success in getting that A1C down! MJ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
