Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thanks all!!! Will follow up with NCL & TA (not Costco).
  2. We like to do b2b cruises. My TA (outside travel agency) and the CN folks onboard tell me that we absolutely CANNOT use their BOGO airfare with b2b cruises. But here on CC I read multiple accounts of people buying one way BOGO airfare - such as a Transatlantic that departs from their hometown, but requires a flight back from Europe. Or people doing b2b cruises and only buying BOGO airfare one way for first and last cruise leg. Can anyone provide a link or someone I can contact at NCL? Again, my TA says you cannot buy oneway BOGO airfare for b2b cruises, but if I call NCL they won’t talk to be since cruise was booked through an outside TA. Any yes, I know routing etc is totally out of my hands. We just want to take advantage of their very attractive BOGO rates for far away cruises of 2-3 b2b itineraries. Thanks in advance!
  3. Whole town of Lahaina burned according to reports. Those poor people!!! I hope NCL does help with relief efforts. Would gladly chip in. We are on NCL Spirit B2B (from Alaska to Tahiti) that circles Hawaii twice Sept 11-19, 2023. That is a month away but I wonder if NCL Spirit and POA will avoid port to allow Maui time to try to recover from this tragedy???
  4. We are booked B2B NCL Spirit Aug 30-Sept 27: Vancouver-Alaska-Hawaii-Tahiti. Anyone know if Raiatea and Moorea have docks or are tender ports? Looking to organize scuba diving both places but getting conflicting info re: ports. Many thanks in advance for any info!!!
  5. We are booked B2B NCL Spirit Aug 30-Sept 27: Alaska-Hawaii-Tahiti. So going around Hawaii twice from Sept 11-Sept 19. Anyone hearing about any itinerary changes due to horrible wildfires? Thanks!
  6. Does anyone know if NCL allows OBC (onboard credit) to be used to pay the $20 pp/day gratuities at end of cruise? Thanks!
  7. Well, drats! I was hoping it was a secret cat cafe! Looks like a great location. Very pleased to not be in a steel rail balcony on 4 fwd. Thank you all for taking the time to answer. Denise - we will see you in just over a week! Fingers crossed for good weather! Cheers, Amy
  8. Hello all! So excited to have just been assigned Cabin VE 7122 on the Nieuw Amsterdam southbound Alaska cruise departing May 28. We had a balcony guarantee and are happy with this assignment as it has the plexiglass clear balcony railing. Does anyone have any idea what is contained in the area directly across the hall from this cabin? I am assuming it’s a storage area. We are starting our adventure with Hal’s train trip and 2 nights in Denali. (Actually we arrive a day early and have RT train to Seward with a whale watching cruise booked. This is after an eight hour layover in Chicago where we are going to take the train into town and do an architectural tour and hopefully see Chonkosauras the massive, snapping turtle that lives in Chicago!) This is our first time cruising on Holland America, so any tips or tricks would be much appreciated! We have previously cruised with Norwegian, Celebrity, and Carnival. We have orange shirts packed. Thanks so much in advance!
  9. Thanks so much for the advice! We were leaning towards the top deck option but ended up with 9292 and 9237 - the first rear facing midship slants as another couple decided to join us. So one port and one starboard. Thank you!
  10. I would think that would be extremely noisy being just under buffet?
  11. Booking a balcony cabin on Celebrity Eclipse in November heading to Cabo as first port. Then PV, then Mazatlan. Love to watch coastline during day/at night/in morning - even if just distant twinkly lights. Thinking PORT side would give better view - esp first evening. Comments? Experiences port vs starboard? TIA!
  12. Thanks - looking at that exact location or almost all the way aft 1194. Leaving LA to Mexico does port side provide a coastal view/twinkling lights that first evening?
  13. I would think that would be extremely noisy being just under buffet?
