Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Okay, I can't vouch for the accuracy of this statement, but I have read it many times over the years from many sources. This - It is apparently standard procedure on cruise ships that when a person fails to report back when the ship is prepared to sail, staff is directed to their cabin and passports are removed from the safe, brought down and turned over to the port agent on shore. Some have reported that sometimes even their medication has been brought down with it. So if you are unfortunately left behind your first course of action should be to contact the port agent for your documents. We never take our passports ashore so I sure hope this is good info.
  2. FLL - We needed to transfer between two different cruise lines (can't remember which). We knew ahead of time that shuttles would not be available and so decided to cab it. We were concerned that taxi drivers would be reluctant to take us for such a short drive. But the driver informed us that it was fine as in these instances he would be allowed to return to the front of the taxi line. Can't remember the cost but it was pretty cheap.
  3. As someone on another thread has previously suggested, the cruise line probably intentionally leaves out shuttle info prior to the cruise in the hopes of securing more ship excursions.
  4. I've been searching online and have found this, not sure how up-to-date info is - Taxi - The official fixed rate for Zeebrugge to Bruges is € 50 Cruise Express (shuttle to town) - € 20 return https://www.cruise-express.be/en/
  5. This was available on the Equinox this past Feb. It was held one day in Sushi on 5. $40 pp including the gratuity. It was not highly promoted, we had to inquire in advance. Don't know if those who booked Sushi on 5 (for their reg. menu) were for-warned.
  6. Lets see if this works - page avail. on my reservation https://www.hollandamerica.com/secondaryFlow/gifts/flowers
  7. I love my morning cappuccino and always have two. I use a Yeti coffee mug that is large enough to hold two which stays hot for me for a few hours. The mug is short, no taller than a regular ship's cup/mug and some ships have brewed directly into it. Other times, after the first day, when they see me set my mug on the counter, they have brewed my coffee into a pitcher, brought it to the counter and poured it into my cup.
  8. Thank you so much. You wouldn't happen to know if there is any shopping nearby? Thanks.
  9. Hi, I've come across some info on this but not terribly recent. I am wondering if this food court is still active and if anyone has had any experience. There were several food booths with outdoor communal seating. TIA
  10. Does anyone know which pier Celebrity uses in Martinique, Pointe Simon pier or Tourelles? TIA
  11. I've read that shops are generally closed on Sundays. I was wondering if this gets waived when cruise ships are in. TIA
  12. Hi, I'll be in Aruba for one day on a cruise. Would like to spend a couple of hours on the beach followed by lunch at Bugaloe's. Are there beach chairs/umbrellas to rent near the restaurant? If so, where would I get off the bus? Thanks!
  13. We took a cab. Thought the driver might be reluctant for such a short jaunt. He explained that after dropping us off he would be allowed to jump the taxi line as opposed to having to pull up to the rear. Easy !
