Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I just paid more for a 4 day summer cruise on carnival than a 7 day cruise on Royal out of NYC . Not sure what is so cheap? Prices are up on all of them.
  2. Maybe it’s time for a ship name change - can prob think of a few with electric charges or some that would be smoking something…
  3. Do they take the rollercoaster off #4 and $5 and try a different gimmick or are they sold on that thing?
  4. I'm sure NY will get one in the summer - maybe bring back a winter season for Venezia. The issue is carnival gets very little love in the winter in NYC.
  5. It going to impossible to keep up with the changes and the numbers always going up. Most people who start to cruise, go again… and if they enjoy repeat the same line. Everyday people are increasing their days/points. You don’t want to make the levels unattainable as some people like the gimmick and the small additions they get. Will take smart people to come up with a solution..
  6. I guess no more smaller ships - larger is what the people want
  7. On Curb Larry says to Jason Alexander that he was George when Jason called the character George a loser and that he was not a loser.
  8. The great George Costanza said “ it’s not a lie if you believe it”!
  9. Funny I was just on allure in a suite and I came back to $100 of towel charges. They removed them when I called but I never scanned my card! I think allure is towel trigger happy.
  10. People are loyal to a brand because they are comfortable with it. As long as the brand keeps them happy and they feel that they’re getting valued for what they pay for they stay. Once you’ve cruised many cruise lines and realize that the products are very similar in many ways and it’s the little perks that get people to go back. Weather it be casino comps, free alcohol, free laundry, a meal at an upscale restaurant, or just the ability to get on and off the ship early - everybody has something that they feel is a perk that gives them extra value to the cruise fair that they pay. Actual cruise fares have gone up across-the-board but I believe more on Royal than anybody else. However, if one books early on a group fair or gets a casino comp there are some affordable trips to be taken even on the more expensive fair ships. I I am sure though that Carnival if they could figure out a way of increasing the base fair, they would do it in a heartbeat. Even if it meant giving out more free drinks or a luggage tag to every single person.
  11. Reality is if I get 4-5 drinks a day on a cruise for free I get more free things the longer the cruise is. 11 day cruise would be 44-55 drinks. If you get a good cruise fare it’s a good value. Carnival does not offer this but if I get a really cheap fare I may get value and still be ahead with a drink package that will run about $130 a day for two people.
  12. We agree perception and reality are not the same. It’s a variable in the eye of the beholder.
