Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. You can order ahead on the app or website . A little over $200. Onboard I think you can purchase a day pass for $89 I would suggest waiting to tour it if you are not familiar. I love it but find it second place to The Enclave on Princess.
  2. Just got off the Regal yesterday, the 19th of Feb. Paul Chandler Burns is headed to the Sky, Matt will be the Entertainment Director and Allie the CD.
  3. Does anyone have experience with the cabins on the Sun deck that are across from the Retreat Pool area? I am familiar with most areas of this class of ship and would like to book one for a Transatlantic but I am concerned about noise or other negative issues. I appreciate any advice. Thanks.
  4. When I was in Mykonos last May the Regal docked and bus and water ferry were available to downtown. If you don’t take a tour, you have a choice of taking a bus or a water shuttle to town. I took the bus to town and was dropped in a parking lot with a bit of a walk into town. If you decide to walk it, it is not a straight shot and very uneven surfaces to navigate. (I am 73 and healthy but careful with long walking distances and heat) Coming back, I opted for the water shuttle that left from dock in town and dropped off very near the ship. Hands down the winner! Especially for older folks counting their steps when on tours. Factor in the higher temperatures when you consider which to choose. I do not remember the cost of either but either was inexpensive. I found no significant delays with either. It’s very close. 5-10 minutes travel. I don’t remember if they take credit cards. I would take cash. I am sure one could find the water taxi rates online.
  5. When I stayed in London after a Princess cruise, I bought a Princess transfer to the Victoria bus station and took a cab to The Rembrandt. Reasonably priced, nice breakfast and near Harrods. The Victoria and Albert Museum was across the street. I don’t remember the nearest metro, sorry. But the hop on bus had a stop at museum. Very quiet neighborhood but a trek to the Thames and landmarks there. the bus station can be quite hectic and is large, so depending on your age and luggage, it can be difficult but doable. It seems all the transfer buses arrive at once and it can take a bit to sort out. Good luck!
  6. can you tell us who the cruise director is on the ship?
  7. there is no single supplement. I booked as a solo. You can add another later, if you wish.
  8. Sorry, Thrace, forgot room number….. Emerald Deck, from E118 forward. Should be same on Discovery. 👍
  9. I have sailed on the Sly Princess twice with an enlarged balcony in the front of the ship. At one time it was the same price but I am not sure if there is a surcharge now. i think Princess got wise and increased the fare. These pics are from Dec 2019 pre Covid but shouldn’t have changed much. For us, the balcony was perfect.
  10. Lovely balcony and sail away. I will be following along. quick question, if you have a min: Can I order lattes in AQ room service menu? I haven’t been able to see the “enhanced” room service menu. I am sailing Sept 17th and trying to determine which non alcoholic package to pre purchase. Thanks! Enjoy your cruise.
  11. i chose two dates from the email and they emailed a booking confirmation back to me. I never actually called to get the booking. they emailed me the confirmation a couple of days later. if you are wanting to take advantage, I would recommend that approach. Then you can call them later to “tweak” the booking. (That’s is you can get them to answer) hope that helps!
  12. Can you share the SXM location? We will be there in Dec and my Blanton’s is getting dangerously low. Thanks!
