Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Hello- I have been to there 5 times. I snorkel every time. I carry my own equipment but you still need to get a snorkel vest for free from the snorkel shack. I don't mind it, then i can relax and float a bit. There are lots of fish. If you go to the first alcove of chill beach? I do not know what to call it. You will see a floating dock, swim out further and there is a shipwreck. The lifeguards are on jet skis out there. You will see the area. The snorkel shack people can guide you (which is right before chill beach). That cove is the best place for snorkeling that I know of someone may know different. Some days are clearer than others of course. I bring my own snorkel gear because it has the bobble where water can get in as I swim around. Don't forget to shuffle your feet! Have lots of fun. Let me disclose I have only been there with Royal- Food on the island is the buffet style ship food. Its included. It is so nice to eat there on the picnic tables. I love it. They usually have water, ice tea, lemonade included. Royal makes homemade tortilla shells. I hope Celebrity does the same. There is snack shack in the back included as well that my son visits every time. Enjoy!!
  2. jean87510- I have been told the vests are needed - my experiences with the staff. I also swim alone. It is not a bad idea if I go way out so they can see me. If you are fluttering near the shore that is a different story. Candleonwater - Coco Cay Island market is a bunch of little kiosks .(way more expensive then Nassau's straw market) Last time I think about 6 were open. I have bought many items on different trips and had to pay cash. No Sea Pass card. They are vendors of the Bahamas, not the cruise line from what the ladies have told me. It may have changed recently, maybe someone else may know. The cruise line does have its own Coco Cay tourist kiosk by the bridge. It is not anything to get excited about. T-shirts, hats etc.
  3. Do not pay the rental if you have your own gear just go to booth on the other side of bridge and pick up a yellow vest. That is it. I carry my own gear every cruise I keep mine all day in case I want to go back in. Return right before I board. Just an extra note- If you hit the little straw market they require you to pay cash (so you do not have to run back to ship like I did once). If she likes chicken go get get the secret chicken sandwich. 😜
