Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thanks for everyone replying. Yeah, I received the OBC back in about 3 minutes. Then re-booked and saved over $170.
  2. So looking to cancel excursion and re-booking with lower Black Friday sale price. It says funds will be sent back to original form of payment. We paid some of it with OBC. How quick do they usually refund it? Our cruise starts in 10 days. Would it be back in OBC by then?
  3. Thanks for the good suggestion. Only problem is we will probably be drinking some Desperados at the Beach. So, don't want to be drinking and driving. Probably leaning toward getting a taxi at each location. I have seen both $17 per person round trip and $17 per person each way to Maho from cruise port. Either way would still be cheaper than the $300 for 6 hours private taxi.
  4. Just checking to see if anyone here on CC has used a taxi to Mullet Bay or Maho in 2023. We have a party of 6 going to Mullet Bay and then to Maho and then back to the cruise port. Trying to figure out the taxi rate to each location but that seems about impossible. No current taxi rate list. Tried to use "contact us" at the taxi association website but that fails to send. Hopefully someone can chime in here with recent cost and experience. Was thinking about getting a private taxi for the 6 of us but $300 for 6 hours seems a little pricey.
  5. Just received the same thing. Would love to see what ship I am sailing on from my house, but it will not let me log into the app right now.
  6. Yeah, last trip I just emailed them and reserved the Day bed. Then we just reserved the Day bed we wanted for our next trip before we left Paradise Beach. Complimentary for both. I guess they start charging the $50.00 December 1st. While the Day beds are nice, I probably would not pay an extra $50.00 for them. I don't think they include anything extra. I guess they are like everyone else these days. Just trying to see where they can increase their revenue.
  7. Was just at Paradise Nov. 1. It did not seem crowded at all. Then again, only 3 ships in port. Including Symphony of the Seas, that we were on. A little more crowded than last time at Nachi. Although the service here was a lot better than the service we received at Nachi last time. We had a free Daybed at the Pool instead of the beach, so probably received better service being closer to food and bar. Both have great food but Paradise had a lot more variety. Enjoyed it so much, we are going back to Paradise again the end of November. This time we have a daybed at the beach and looks like 5 ships will be in port. Will be interesting to see if we still get the same great service as last time.
  8. Checked in last night for our 11/27/2022 Celebration Cruise that is 2 weeks out. Saw the Cabanas on Loft 19 banner then. It seemed most Cabana numbers were still available. Checked backed today and it seems several have been sold. At $1750.00 (Summer sale, Regular for a Cabana is $2250.00) that is way more than we paid for a lido balcony cabin on the cruise. With only two, this is not for us. If we had 4 or 5 going, it may be worth it.
  9. Thanks for the reply. I just see "Dinner for Two in Specialty Restaurant" on my statement. Never seen any fine print. So, I guess this does explain it. Although, I still don't understand it, since Izumi Sushi is way cheaper to purchase than Hooked or others. I'll just chalk it as another strange quirk on Royal and move on.
  10. Just got off Symphony of the Seas. We received a free meal at a specialty restaurant as a perk from our Travel Agent. When we tried to use it at Izumi Sushi, the Suites Concierge later informed us that the manager of Izumi would not let us use the free meal voucher. Said it was because of the surcharge at Izumi. I said, I knew Izumi Hibachi had a surcharge but was not aware of surcharge for Izumi Sushi. All he knew was manager would not let us use the free meal there. So, we booked at Hooked. When the day came for our meal at Hooked, the app said We were still Izumi Sushi. Back to the Concierge (a different one). Explained what went on before. She called Izumi Sushi again and again they confirmed they would not take the free voucher. I did say that it made no sense to me. Especially since Izumi Sushi was charging $34.99 and Hooked was charging I think $52.99. She just looked at me like I had a third eye and said "Yeah, I don't know". Anyways, has anyone else dealt with this and tell me a good reason the free meal voucher is denied in Izumi Sushi. Last of all, while the food in Coastal Kitchen was great all week, the food at Hooked was not so good. The grilled Shrimp and Halibut were overcooked. Hard to mess up raw Oysters though.
  11. Was wondering about that. So, did you keep your original reservations (early or late) in the MDR or did you have my time dining or whatever Royal calls it for the MDR.
  12. Thanks for the email. Just sent them a request. Although, from a posting on another roll call, Halloween activities may be throwing a wrench in the show schedule. At least it was earlier. Should have it figured out by now I hope.
  13. Just received notice yesterday, that our low end fair rated Bid, was accepted for our cruise starting this Saturday on Symphony of the Seas. Not really sure what I was thinking that late night a few weeks ago when I put in that bid. We always just get a regular balcony. Never had a Suite on Royal. Did win a bid on Norwegian to The Haven. That was great! Anyways, I read up a little before placing the bid. Which of course, I have forgotten now Reading old threads here and googling but still have some questions. 1: Do I need to make show reservations? I thought I did but see some people say they didn't have too on their September cruise. With that, where is the Sky class seating in the theater and studio B? 2: With our balcony room, we had early dining in the MDR. Will that transfer to Coastal Kitchen or do I need to make new reservations for dinner at Coastal Kitchen? 3: Do you get free beer and wine in the Suite Lounge when they are open? What are the cocktail drink hours in the Suite Lounge? Do you get free beer, wine and soft drinks in Coastal Kitchen? We are not Diamond and did not get the drink package. So, just wondering what is included drink wise. Also, for you Suite Pro's, any inside tips about Suites for these 2 newbies would be appreciated.
  14. Reviving this older thread to see if anything has changed for the flowrider in the past 6 months. Will be on Sympathy of the Seas in a little over a week, just wondering if anyone has been on it lately and what were the rules. Not being on a flowrider since 2017 and now being older and fatter it should be interesting. Mainly wondering if they still have the 2 tries and out with standup without any help still in place? I see the key listed in my planner. (Wonder if it is really available) If so, does the Key give you much more time on the flowrider? Last of all, I thought before, I could sign the liability waivers online before the cruise. I don't see anywhere for that. So, I guess you have to sign the waivers on the ship now?
  15. Were the $2 beers 12 oz or the small ones? Also, what did they charge for the chairs at the beach? Any kind of crazy 30% tax added to final bill? Had this happen at El Kraken beach club last week in mahahaul.
