Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thanks for all your replies, we have booked with parking4cruises.
  2. Good morning, just a quick question. Do CPS open parking places up again for paying customers if not all complimentary spaces are taken. Booked on Arcadia for Iceland in June and the difference between select and saver was £1200. We chose saver as we have obstructed sea view which are all on the same deck. Looked at parking for cruises but some reviews were worrying. Thank you
  3. Was that for 2 nights Zap? Iona last month was £20. each before discount although I think different “turns” have different prices. Epicurean was £24. each before discount. I don’t get their pricing either 🤪
  4. Personal opinion only, disembarked Iona on 30th March our 4th time on her and it wasn’t the best. Would rather have paddled a canoe up the canal 😮🤣
  5. Great review and pictures Sue, thank you so much for sharing. Aurura is the ship we haven’t been on yet (plus Arvia but we don’t fancy that one) so it’s good to get honest reviews before we try x
  6. I am a meat eater but agree about the lack of choice. At home I make veggie curry using onion, peppers, courgette, cauli, spinach and chickpeas. In the Keel and Cow I ordered the vegan vegetable kofta balti pan which was basically peas and carrots in sauce and the kofta were balls of mashed potato with again peas and carrots. It wasn’t worth the £6.50 charge and was very disappointed at the lack of variety of ingredients in the dish.
  7. Booked Caribbean for 2026 for our 40th anniversary, booked early as we wanted an aft balcony. Looking back this is £1400 more than we paid in 2020 (cancelled due to covid) For us we’re happy with what we have booked, we can spend romantic evenings on the balcony watching the wake and getting covered in soot 😊
  8. Thanks again for a great blog, hope your journey back isn’t too rocky.
  9. Great blog, thanks. Love the Keel and Cow, hubby has a thing for the sticky duck bao buns. This time in 2 weeks we’ll be on Iona, probably asleep at this time of night 🤣 Is the Captain Wesley Dunlop?
  10. That meal looks delicious, don’t usually go for fish but I would enjoy that. 😋
  11. We’re on this one too (getting giddy) I don’t know how many child places are on the ship but just tried doing a dummy booking and not many cabins left for families with children. We don’t really use the pools or hot tubs so the children being in them doesn’t bother us. We do like to see them dressed up on “posh” nights, they’re delightful and put a lot of the adults to shame. Like the original poster our kids are grown up and we have no grand kids. I think sometimes we just forget what it’s like being around young uns
  12. There is a bus at the port which takes you into Chania, last time we were there it cost a couple of euro. Nice place with shops and horse shoe bay. Souda has to be one of the worst places to stop at, often wondered if they pay the ships.
  13. Fond memories of Tortola, sat outside Pussers with a painkiller or two not realising how strong they were 🥳 Our second visit hubby made me go to the botanical gardens instead (he doesn’t like rum) Shame you’re tendering, there must be another ship in.
  14. Not very appealing, but the honey and ginger sponge sounds comforting. For me I would probably be craving home made egg and chips by now 🤣
