Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Yes, I have read all of this but it doesn’t mention anything about an airport stop.
  2. Hi, it’s been a few years since we last travelled to Fort Lauderdale. We have 9pm flights and want to tour around and use the free trolley and water trolley but I can’t find any info about if it has a stop at the airport? The sun trolley picked up right at the airport .
  3. We have cruised out of NYC before on NCL Breakaway a few years ago but it was during March break. We had some crappy weather going down, poured rain and choppy water the first day but great after that. I take motion sickness meds(Dramamine) and it was the first time I had to take 2 because of the choppy water, we have sailed plenty on 4 different cruise lines, so I was a little surprised. So bring meds just in case! I love going out of NYC because there’s no flying for us , so makes for a cheap vacation.
  4. Ah, sorry, I must have misunderstood that part…. I always bring my own stuff, so just assumed she was too.
  5. You need to read up on Sensory Processing Disorder and the eating disorder called ARFID. My son would actually allow himself to die before eating something that isn’t exactly the same every time. It is medically diagnosed and very hard to treat. Some kids get to the point where they are tube-fed only. Not your fault that you don’t know about it, but OP’s concerns are very real and her child’s health depends on it.
  6. I completely understand your frustration, I have a son with ARFID and 100% understand the need for brand specific things. I often bring boxes of pop tarts, nutrigrain bars, fruit cups, in very specific brands and flavours. Lots of people just don’t have the knowledge about different eating disorders. I don’t think you will have a problem at all, as long as they’re in sealed , unopened containers. I would just pack them and carry them on and if anyone gives you a hard time, tell them about the eating disorder.
  7. Our New Year’s cruise from NYC has Miami as our first port of call but there’s No Carnival excursions even offered. What can we do for the day with 3 teenagers?
  8. We did Carnival Mardi Gras last New Year’s and it was amazing. Our oldest is in university so we can only go during Christmas break now. I’m currently trying to figure out what to do in Miami too. There doesn’t seem to be any Carnival excursions here except for debarkation to the airport. 🤷‍♀️Let me know if you find anything interesting.
  9. Cool! We’re on this cruise too😀, family of 5 from Kingston, Ontario.
  10. Hi, we’re taking a cruise from NYC in December and one of our stops is Miami. Any suggestions for fun things to do in Miami with 3 nerdy teens?(Not a fan of beaches)😀
