  1. I met my friend who's on Legend now in the Baltimore terminal a few years ago when the Pride was late coming back and we never sailed till midnight. We started talking and laughing while everyone was complaining. We stayed friends ever since and have sailed together a few times. We still laugh at the whiners and the negative comments about Every. Single. Thing. Smile and laugh a lot! This situation is tragic but certainly not Carnival's fault. They don't owe anyone a thing.
  2. My friend is on Legend now. She lives in Virginia and has to disembark in Norfolk, get bussed to Baltimore and then drive back to Virginia. She's fine with whatever has to be but said that those on the ship now are whining, moaning and complaining like never before. Human nature will always baffle me...lol
  3. I ran out of popcorn......about 10 years ago....(lol)
  4. Every cruise is worth travel insurance no matter how cheap the trip was. Medical emergencies/accidents etc. can happen to anyone at any time and any age. Just a thought!
  5. Loved Pride. Sailed on her 7X.from Baltimore which I think is the easiest port ever. I like the smaller ships on any line, Food was good and there was always something to do. Met a lot of people on the ship and there's a lot of repeat cruisers on Pride. Saw some several times on my trips and stayed in touch with them. Always a good time!
  6. Over the years, in regards to cruising and many other things, I prefer to see it for myself before I decide if it's good or bad. Prior to my first cruise on Carnival I had doubts from so many negative comments on boards of the "other" lines. I figured if it was that horrible, I wouldn't go on another. I've been on 16 Carnival cruises since then. Glad I didn't listen to the negative!.
  7. Once on MSC: A friend invited me on MSC Divina out of Miami back in 2017. I was Diamond Plus on RCL so they matched my status for the trip and we had the top perks. We had fun overall but neither of us was crazy about it. Met some nice people but some were very obnoxious. Once was enough. Thought about it again when I saw NY sailings but looking back, Once was enough!
  8. I gave up speculating on how Carnival decides to comp people and tired of being asked how much I spend blah blah to get what I get. As long as the offers keep coming I won't worry how they figure it all out. Smooth sailing!
  9. Past cruises: (For me) If I've bought Cheers or had DOU everywhere, the casino host will offer Steakhouse at around 3000 points, first or second night. Sometimes I'll get another offer around day 5 (sometimes not). This was on Pride and Legend and I was always visible in the casino...lol. It also depended who the host was on a particular sailing. Some were more generous than others. I've never asked. They approached me. Agree with RCL hosts. Haven't sailed with them since 2007.
  10. I'd be more afraid of walking through Times Square these days and I grew up in New York!
  11. One NCL cruise was enough for me. It was an older ship and people keep telling me to give it another try. Leaving from NY and driving distance is a plus but I just can't bring myself to do another! Pride and Legend are my favorite Carnival ships and I don't mind the ride to Baltimore since it's the easiest port ever. Good choice going with Carnival!
  12. I'll grab a sandwich at the Deli and can still sit solo in the Lido area, inside or out. I've done the seaday brunch with others but only after I knew them from other areas on the ship (casino, bars etc.) and got along with them...(LOL)
  13. I do set time. Easier for me! If you want to do set time with your own table, see the Maitre D when you board. They will accommodate. I have never done YTD.
