Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I haven't noticed pricing different in the MDR. As for your other question, yes bar tenders are to open drinks but many will not. Soda is always in a can and the straws suck if you can get one. I just take my metal one. You may also notice your drinks showed up on your bill at zero charge.
  2. I know this has been asked a hundred times but I'm asking again. I'm leaving next week and the person I thought was going to go is not and I've ask a couple of friends but they all said no so I'm sailing solo. No big deal as I have done it before. I'm on a casino rate; selected two people but never filled out the tba name. I paid the taxes for both people when I book. The questions, can I just leave the spot as tba? Should I put a fake name in and have them no show? If I do, should I tell them once onboard so they are not looking for them? TIA
  3. I just got one today for my cruise next week and they forgot to include the survey link. I got I will not be doing it.
  4. One of the reasons I took a later appointment for next week. Enjoy your cruise and please don't break the ship.
  5. In March on the Dream they walked me to the cage for the hand pay.
  6. That's weird, I just checked the week before and it doesn't show to the port either. I would call Carnival. My cruise for this October is showing both.
  7. If you have DOU in the casino only then you can't order at the bar. If you have DOU everywhere you can. If you go to the bar ask a server standing there and most times they will put the order in for you. Also if you tip well server will remember you and come back more often. YMMV
  8. My last two cruise the Bloody Mary's were lacking tomato juice and burning. I switched to morning spiked coffee.
  9. I've found the on ship offers are about the same as the pre cruise prices. I've been looking for a 20% offer as I used that last time on top of port day discounts to get closer to affordable price. I also got a haircut last time and they did such a good job I plan on booking one for my next cruise on the fist day.
  10. Typical ships turn off the on board cell network when they come into port. Most smart phones will tell you which network you are on at the top of the screen. Once in port you join the land based network and this will usually work for a few miles out to sea. When leaving port you will see no service before they turn the ship base Cellular at Sea service back on. Some networks will give you a roaming message on what the costs are when you are not on an included partner network.
  11. All the photo are digital that you view and select on a table. I prefer the printed photo to view.
  12. I few years back on was on a cruise where the gentleman down the hall had a service dog. It was a Great Dane and he needed a tall dog for support. After seeing him a few times I did breakdown and ask where the dog went the bathroom, he told me it was trained to use a litter box on the balcony. I wanted to pet the dog but knew it was working and didn't ask.
  13. On the Dream we bought a bottle for 50% off and they gave us a free bottle for later.
  14. I had 3 shirts and a sports coat and it was $16
