"Live" From the Enchantment of the Seas

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I am reporting "Live" from the Enchantment of the Seas....This is a T/A preview cruise for the Newly refurbished EOS. I did't even know they were having this preview, until my DM called me last Wednesday and Invited me....

We are in the Port of Philadelphia, and we will only be 1 night at sea.....The EOS sails to Canada tomorrow with the first paying passengers from Philadelphia.

When I return home, I will be sure to post many photos of this ship. It is very beautiful, and the new areas are truly spectacular. They are still painting, laying carpets, and such. I was able to view each Catagory of stateroom today, and have already taken many, many pics...

I wish there was Cybercabin available on board...I would be able to post on line with Cruise Critic.

I am not sure where we will be going....It can't be far because we debark tomorrow at 8am..

I will report later if possible. There is no charge for Internet today and the internet cafe is filled.....

The Port of Philadelphia is very nice and there was no line to board the ship...The gangway was very long though....about 300 feet.

The parking lot is only about 3 blocks from the terminal...and there is a shuttle busts that will bring you to the terminal if you like...

Chops will not be open today, but the Windjammer, Ben and Jerry's, Lattitudes, and all of the Bars are open.

I'll be back soon.......

Radio, you are the greatest! We can count on you to report "on the spot"!

Is the ship full? If so, that would reflect well on Philadelphia's cruise port ability to get you all on board without complaint. :)

I'm a little surprised to hear about so much construction still going on, since Enchantment already cruised, what, four times, out of Bayonne?

radio,

I'm one of those first paying customers out of Philly tomorrow! Morning can't come soon enough. It's great to want to get up on the first day of vacation! I hope all the small problems I have been reading about are fixed.

How long does it take to get to sea from the port?

Anything else you can tell us would be great.

Thanks for the info.

We are sailing Sunday - thanks so much for the update. Please tell us that the problem with the toilets not being able to empty has been corrected. This was a post I read on Cruise Critic earlier. We sailed on Enchantment when she was brand new - loved the dining room decor and the look of the entire ship. Can't wait to see the improvements. I hope you have no trouble quickly posting pics for us when you get back. Thanks for your help - smooth sailing!

We are from Reading PA also - but not sailing till Sunday. We will be getting on as you are disembarking. Hope you have a great trip. Just a tip - if you are driving yourself I was told not to use Blue Route - due to loads of construction. Stay on Schuylkill Expressing - entire route - till Broad St. exit. Hope you enjoy the Enchantment - smooth sailing.

Hello Everyone.....The ship is very nice. Dinner was great (Lobster & Shrimp)...I am going to the Production show at 9:30.

The only dinner seating was at 7PM......I dont think the ship is even half filled. Even with only 1 dinner seating...the Dining room was only half full.

I am in cabin 7556. It seems very nice, but has not been remodeled...There are no new linens, drapes, or furniture. I am very happy it is a balcony though...

We are about 20 miles south of Wilmington...and I dont know if we will make it into the Atlantic or not...they said that the Casino will be open between 11pm until 1am.

MerionMom...They are laying carpets, and putting down teak all around the pool...

Treacher1....I have not had any problems...There has been no odor of any kind. The toilets are working well.

When I get off off the ship Tomorrow, I have to go right to work....so I may not be able to post pics until Wednesday...but I will try...

The Windjammer Marketplace is very nice..They have added many table to the area, and have enclosed additional space.

The Jump Zone was up and running today between 6-7. It looked like lots of fun !

I will try to check in again later...Many Pics to come

My family has booked 8 cabins to sail Thanksgiving week. Haven't seen anything updated by RCCL, so the message boards are wonderful.

We were wondering--which rooms are actually in the new section of the ship? Can you tell by room number?

The best way to figure out where the new cabins are, is to look at the deck plan for deck 8.

http://www.royalcaribbean.com/finda...ailDate=1050707.

There are 16 purple D1's and 6 inside K's in the new section. From there, you can work your way down deck by deck and figure out where the new cabins are.

We attended a very nice presentation about RCI , last night. The President of RCI and the VP of Sales were on hand with others, to discuss business in general. There were no new features discussed of Freedom of the Seas...But they had an interesting film about the May 5, kickoff with Richard Fain in Noew York regarding FOS.

The new Concierge club is located on Deck 8...across from Royal Caribbean On Line.

The price for the Cafe is .50 per minute.. Package prices are $25=60min...$35.=90 min...$50.00=150 min.

The WiFi is up and running...The wifi card is $10./day $50./Voyage.

WiFi locations are in the VikingCrown Lounge,Centrum, Solarium, Library,Spotlight Lounge,Schooner Bar.

The Future Cruise Consultant area is just below the Internet Cafe on deck 7.

We're approaching the Passenger terminal..We should be there by 7am.

I will post pics as soon as possible......

Coming Next...."LIVE" from the Grandeur of the Seas July 22, 2005

for a 9 night Caribbean.

Thanks for tuning in.....

Thank you Radio! Did they say anything about the recent horror stories with the toilets that we have been reading about here? Did you have any problems with flushes or backups? Some EOS cruisers really suffered with this one during their cruise earlier. I am new so thank you very much for your reports I really look foward to your pics!

Radio posted yesterday that he experienced no problems with the toilets, so I guess that problem has been resolved. :) That sort of problem is not uncommon on ships but is usually a short-term one that is quickly resolved.

I left the ship today much earlier that expected..I was off at 8:15 and in my car at 8:30.....I have a few pics posted already but will load much ...more tonight.

I have all cabins and suite pics.... There was no Muster Drill on this cruise...and no customs and immigration..... I think we made it to the ocean at around 11pm, and started heading back uo the Delaware Bay at ariund 1 or 2 am...

We were on the july 11 cruise on Enchantment, staying on Deck 7. On that deck, the new section ran from room 7068 to 7082. Hope that helps.

Thanks so much for telling us about the cruise. We will be on Enchantment Oct 10. I can't wait. The ship looks very interesting with the new elevated board walks and I'm so psyched to try the bungee jumping trampolines. (May change my mind once I see what they actually involve!)

Anyone else who sails this ship, please tell us more and include photos.
