Is there a cheaper alternative to parking at Port of Charleston?

Does anyone know if there are cheaper parking alternatives for the Port of Charleston? I'm hearing that it will probably be about $160 for a 10 day cruise. We will driving from NC and will not be spending the night in Charleston before the cruise. Would love to hear from those who have gone out of Charleston.

Although you say that you will not be spending the night in Charleston, I would mention the Springhill Suites, Riverview. We stayed there for $89 + tax and this price included parking for the duration of the cruise as well as a shuttle to and from the port. We felt this was extremely good value and would recommend it highly.

Unfortunately parking is a serious problem downtown. The only good recommendation I can give is to stay at a hotel that has a park & sail package, like the one mentioned above. :cool:

If you can leave a day earlier, check out Shem Creek Inn in Mt. Pleasant. Free parking, continental breakfast, easy walking to restaurants, scenic views. Shuttle not included. We too live in NC and will be sailing on 3/19, out first Celebrity cruise. Oh, and less than $100, taxes, etc. included.

You might try Park N Go. From there you could take a taxi to the port or they take you to the airport but from there you could take a shuttle to the port. They're located close to the air port and their website is: www.park-go dot com

We have learned that if you have a handicaped parking tag parking is free at the Port of Charleston. If you qualify that is a good deal.

Wow, that is really great to know since we are looking at the Mercury for next March and are considering driving from Cincinnati. We just got home from the west coast yesterday and flying has become a total pain in the backside!

:) Go to www.stay123 They list hotels at most cruise ports with the park n cruise option. gives prices , # of days free parking and wether or not they provide shuttle service to the terminal

Park N Go is NOT at the airport...it's on Montague Ave...close to the air port but n ot AT the air port.
