Bernard's Tour or Taxis --St. Martin?

Recommended Posts

Is Bernard's Tour really worth it for a family of four? Would it be more economical to just get a taxi?

Only you can decide that, but if you want a tour of the island and have no worries about traffic or what time to get back to the ship, then I would definately recommend Bernard.

I don't know if they are finished with the road construction that was near Maho, but if they haven't traffic can be awful,, especially in the afternoon, so if you take a taxi be sure to allow enough time to make it back to the ship.

Many people do it both ways.......so again choose what's best for your family.

If this is your first visit then Bernard's tour would be great for you...after many visits we find it easier to just go to where we want by taxi...

Check Bernard's website. Type in "Bernard's Tours, St. Maarten" and it should come up. The description of the tour and the price are all right there along with the reservation form. We did Bernard's about three year ago and are doing it again this September. We had a great time last time. They go to Orient Beach, Maho Beach, and then around the island with lots of interesting information from the driver. Several stops along the way.

We are going to nix Bernards Tour. We would rather have the freedom to do what we want, and we do not want to stop or waste time at Orient Beach. As such, we are going to leisurely walk off the ship, take a taxi to Marigot for some market shopping and french pastries, then head over to Maho Beach to watch the planes, stopping in Phillipsburg on the way back. We are the only ship in port so we should have the island to ourselves. :)
