It is at the airport, but when arriving you take a shuttle bus to the car rental facility. You cannot walk to it.

Thank you. Is that for all rental agencies? If so that is fine, if not, Ill switch to an agency where my dh wont have to take a shuttle.

Thanks.

Alamo has a new location between the cruise port and the airport. When you are looking at rates, you need to check between both locations as they are usually different rates. It was way cheaper for us to rent at the airport, but took a taxi to it, the shuttle does not take you from the mid location to the airport.

Most of the popular rental car companies offer at least two locations - one at the Rental Car Center at the airport and at locations within a mile or so of the cruise terminals. Are you asking about the airport location of Alamo? It is at the center on level 2 and you can walk there from terminal 1 but you have to take a shuttle van from other terminals.

When did this change? We rented a car from National back in June at FLL. The Alamo counter was right next to National. It was not a far walk at all from our terminal where we disembarked our plane. (Southwest)

I'm confused, are you getting an Alamo car rental from the cruise ship? IF so, you need to know which location you are renting from. The new location, called Port Everglades, has a shuttle from the cruise terminal to it. IF you are renting from the airport, you need to take a taxi from the cruise terminal to the airport location. The shuttle does not take you from the Port Everglades location to the Airport Location. The new location must have opened some time early 2017, because we rented Alamo in November 2016 and the shuttle took us to the airport, in March 2017 it took us to the new location.
