Has anyone taken Cruise Train (direct) from London to Harwich??

We need transportation from our London hotel (near the Liverpool Street Station) to Harwich port for our July 26 Infinity Norway cruise. Has anyone taken the direct Cruise Train from Liverpool Station to Harwich? I would love to hear your feedback.:)

We did it in 2010 and it's an easy journey. When you get off the train at Harwich, you can just roll your luggage to the ship. I recall the return tickets were much cheaper than singles. Choose carriages in the front because at one particular stop mid-way there's announcement that the train would continue its journey with only 4 carriages and we had to move our luggage to the front. Not sure if this is still the case now. Otherwise, the journey was easy and hassle-free.

Great choice...We used the return train from Harwich to Liverpool Street Station..and sorry we didn't do that on the outbound...We know for next time how easy using the train can be.

We just returned from our cruise from Harwich. We caught the 9am train at Liverpool Street Station on a Monday morning. We got on coach C near the front end of the train. It was not crowded and we had no problem with our two large suitcases and two carry-on size cases.
We purchased the tix online earlier for only £8.00 each.
We arrived in Manningtree, got off and were right at the stairway, which was easy to pull luggage behind as we went down the 12 or so steps and a little bit of a pull up the next steps, but not bad at all. We come out right at the train and got on. It too was almost empty except for a few other cruisers headed to Harwich. Train pulled up at the pier Harwich International, at 10:17am, on time. Got off walked about 100 yds and turned the luggage over to the cruise staff.

We did this on a HAL cruise some years ago and the station is right by the ship and the crew were waiting for the train and took the luggage off us as we got off the train - one of the easiest embarkations ever!

Englander, you must have arrived at about 10:30, and I assume the ship was not yet ready for boarding, so were there waiting facilities or how did you occupy your time once you handed-off your luggage?

We arrived at 10:20 and there is a little café there where you can buy coffee etc. At 10:45 they announce the ship was open for boarding. Not bad at all. Of course the rooms were not ready till 1pm but the buffet was open at 11am.

Great! Thank you. We're counting down the days until our boarding in August.
