Rose Island, Nassau

How to we get to Rose Is., from where the Breakaway docks in Nassau?

Rose Island is not accessible without a tour or guide.

It's is a long and narrow island, and several companies go to a variety of beaches and coves on the island. Parts of the island are public by permit, others privately owned and tourists can be chased off (sometimes by dogs). So it's best to go with someone who knows what they are doing and where they are going.

Flying Cloud snorkeling tour generally goes to Victoria Beach on the western end. Barefoot Sailing also uses this area when the weather allows. Not much for amenities, a small rustic restroom and a few scattered chaise loungers.

Sandy Toes uses a section further west (this area has some amenities, restroom, bar and dining canopy.

There are a few independent snorkeling tours that go out to the island when requested. Some have permits, some don't. Blue Hole water sports is a small outfit that is permitted to use the north side beach.

Other areas on Rose Island are privately owned, so they are NOT open to the public. Access to those areas that are set up for tourism are by permit only. So you need a tour or guide.
