Compare Fred Olsen to Oceania or Azamara

Has anyone been on Fred Olsen cruise and one of either Azamara or Oceania? We like ships with 600-1000 passengers and these three are the only ones with ships that size and reasonably priced. Also, are the Fred Olsen ships in good shape, nice rooms, etc? Until we were in

St. Petersburg and were disembarking with Fred Olsen cruise people, we never heard of Fred Olsen cruises. Not to sound ignorant, but is this a cruise line that is well known in Europe? One of the reasons we like small ships is that we like good service and a chance to get to know our fellow cruisers, whereas on the big ships, you can meet someone you like and then never see them again. Any info you can give us, we would greatly appreciate! Thank you:D

I have cruised many times on Fred Olsen in the last 15 years Black Watch then Braemar. Have also done Marco Polo in the Norweigan Fjords and doing Azamara Quest SE Asia in Jan 2010.

Having berthed next to some monsters we also like the smaller ships. Fred Olsen appear to be marketed mostly in the UK, each time there have been 95%+ Brits aboard..and a very friendly lot they are too
