  1. If this hasn’t been shared already Just seen a Netflix promo for a new Netflix doco to be released on the 24th. The doco’s title: Trainweck - poop cruise It’s about the loss of power and plumbing for 5 days on 2013 Carnival Triumph cruise.
  2. Good morning. It’s the Kings Birthday Long weekend here. My loved one is back home and happy to be there. I am official permitted out and about from today but still not 100% so will be taking it easy.
  3. Another documentary worth looking out for (when it comes to one of the streaming platforms) it’s called DEEPER and features Dr Richard ‘Harry’ Harris attempting to dive the deepest cave system in New Zealand. (Dr Harris was one of the amazing team involved in the perilous but ultimately successful caving rescue of the young Thai boys soccer team back in 2018). This new documentary was shown at the Opera House last night as part of the current Sydney Film Festival. . I was supposed to go but have been waylaid by Covid this week. DH & BIL found the documentary very interesting.
  4. She looks sooo comfortable. Congratulations to Owen. Excellent attributes to have and wonderful that he has been acknowledged and awarded for them.
  5. Same with watching almost all but last episode in one binge. Was desperately hoping I wouldn’t see any spoilers before I managed the watch the very last episode. I honestly feel like walking around saying ‘hey hey’. It’s been stuck in my head.
  6. I’ve been to a wedding where the groom and the FIL had a punch up at the reception. I organised a wedding where the bride and groom split up before they went on their honeymoon but I’ve not heard of the groom not showing up to the wedding at all (well, apart from Big in SATC in that iconic NYC tv scene…)
  7. I read an article this week noting that the angry and appalling comments we see posted online these days are now becoming common place in people’s behaviour in real life.
  8. Congratulations to both of your grandsons on their achievements and awards. Happy 16th to Ryan 🎂.
  9. My friends have recently returned from Ovation cruise from China to Japan & South Korea. Whilst they enjoyed the itinerary, the ship passengers were 50% Russian. They were a nightmare to cruise with. Aggressive and rude. The ship was 3 hrs late leaving because one female Russian got into a physical altercation with a staff member at boarding. Physically tearing up one of the boarding line signs and throwing it in the staff members face. My friend was in a full to the brim lift and two Russian women decided that room had to made for them so they pushed their way in and my friend was shoved hard against the lift wall. At the same time, a friend and her husband were cruising from Japan to Alaska with Regent Explorer. They had absolutely fabulous cruise. The ship was beautiful food delicious and staff were great but there were a percentage of cruisers on board that were very snobby. My colleague and her husband are both professionals and dress smartly and appropriately/elegantly for dinner but they were often given the cold shoulder when saying a friendly hello to passengers and one in particular gave them that dismissive head to toe up and down eye sweep. They ended up forming a group with other friendly passengers on board (majority Australian) and all agreed they wouldn’t cruise with this cruiseline again because they couldn’t watch these snooty passengers treat the staff the way they did.
  10. Yep. I remember too when you could get a reasonable sale price as a solo (even when paying the double fare). Nowadays, when you change a sale cruise to one person there is only one astronomical price cabin type available…cruiselines simply are no longer interested in offering sale prices to solos imo.
  11. Happy Birthday to DH. Every dish looks superb! @grapau27 Every dish you have posted looks superb too!
  12. My Friday night drink was a Prosecco sitting outdoors under the Sydney Harbour Bridge looking at the illuminated Sydney Opera House whilst eating tasty gozleme followed by yummy fudge. We bought our food & drink from The Rocks Market night food stalls. No photo, we were too busy chatting & eating. Cheers.
  13. More to come. We spent a very pleasant 5hrs there last night and saw 50% of the Light installations. So will be going back in to see the rest
  14. @dani negreanu Thank you for asking. My loved one had excellent care & recovered well during the 18 day hospital stay. Now, in rehab and after a bumpy start (apparently being reqd to wear clothing & shoes and pjs at night instead of a hospital gown was a bit of a shock…. Has also gone from a light filled room on the 5th floor with floor to glass ceiling views of the sea to a ground floor room surrounded by trees/bush and that is taking a bit of getting used to as with all the rain, the room is a bit dark (loved one is enjoying the different birds though and trying to identify them by sound). The rehab food hasn’t impressed the patient yet but the main thing is - loved one is enjoying the physio and thinks the physio staff are excellent 👍
