...Where's the public bus stop you are going to pickup the bus in Haugesund? Is the fare 40 kr exact change?[/url]
Good morning from the wonderful little City Haugesund. I may just 'enter' this thread and will try to give you some additional information beside Cheryl already did in her very informative posts.
We just arrived here on time at 7:45 and the ships doors will open shortly. The bus stop is located not far away from the harbour in the near of a little church. You'll find more precise directions in 'our' Roll Call from the July 30iest sailing, just look it up and go to post #841 or around that: there's a LOT of information around this topic. The fare is 35,- NOK if you need exact change we'll figure out in a couple of minutes and post it here.
Talk to you later...

Photos aren't uploading right now- I'll catch up with the pics later :)
It's so sad that we 'lost' you yesterday on our pub crawl, but all asked for another one. So we'll have a second Pub Crawl on our next sea day, so Monday 7th of August if you're interested. Meeting point again: Pit Stop Bar, Deck 13 at 2pm.
I can jump in and offer you internet connection when in Flam and Geiranger if you are interested in, I do have Norwegian Network while in port so I might be able to help you out.
VERY interesting thread so far [emoji106]

I'm not holding my breath but it does at least look a little better for the upgrade now.

Fingers crossed [emoji6]
I'll know in 46 minutes if one of my bids has been accepted (hopefully)

Our cruise leaves out August 26th....We have not received a message about being awarded the upgrade or not yet FYI
Yes, that's exact the same timeline we've registered on our cruise. We'll embark in 49 hours and the status on the bidding site is still 'pending'. But as you told: 4 weeks in prior of our cruise all left Haven, suites & balconies vanished over night...

We spoke with someone from NCL last night. I figured when we saw that all the rooms... :)
How many days in prior to your cruise did that happen?

...My husband is convinced that he needs his heavy winter coat to be out on deck and for excursions...
It's up to you (and your husband, of course) you should await temperatures mostly around the mid 60 daytime and lower 50 in the evening and morning hours. This week (Wednesday) they've had around 72 degrees in Bergen, but that's a heat wave [emoji6]
Hope that helps...

Would love to see pics of the updated Jade...'
There are a lot of brand new videos from the refurbished Jade on YouTube, maybe that helps as well...

...If I can help with questions, perhaps another perspective, don't hesitate to ask.
Janis
Hello Janis,
Was anyone of the bartenders, servers etc. outstanding? Any tips/recommendations/suggestions for restaurants and bars? Did you take the Dailies wth you esp. these for the sea days? Also, I've seen on some photos that there aren't any Bar stools at Sugarcane bar, is this true? I've loved sitting in front of thee Barkeeper on the Star.
Thanks Oliver

...that there's a 2 hour wait between docking and disembarkation) and 2 hours ahead of departure that guests have to be on board...
For the embarkation and disbarkation date it's
quite easy: If the sailaway time it's scheduled for 4pm, you should be in the departure terminal at 2pm latest, 1:30 to be on the safe side. If your arrival time is scheduled for 8am, you should be able to leave the ship at 8am. (Carry-on passengers first) But please be aware that in some ports like Tampa or NOLA fog can always play an important role [emoji854]
The other ports on your trip: like Keith already stated.
Hope that helps...

How was the weather in the Mediterranean last year? We're on the Epic's last Med sailing at the end of October before it's TA this year and also in the Haven and wondering if it'll be too cold/ windy to enjoy the Courtyard, Courtyard Grill and Posh spaces.
The weather end of October could be a little bit chilly...

Which of these routes would you choose?
Quick question Cheryl: why don't you choose the IC145 & IC2226 connection from Amsterdam leaving at 11:00 am? Then you don't have to switch trains in Hamburg main station and it's cheaper too [emoji6] (39€ instead of 59,90€ because of the IC instead ICE use)!

Kim, I hope you don't mind me asking, because I don't want to go back thru your entire review. Did you go to either Burn the Floor or Priscilla Queen of the Desert, and if so, how long was each show? I'll be able to make my reservations in a few weeks and want to time things as best I can. TIA.
Just off the EPIC and will be able to answer your question: Priscilla is about an hour and a half, and Burn the floor about an hour.
Hope that helps...

Several people asked in advance that I save and post the new Norwegian Epic 'Freestyle Daily' pages from the first sailing out of Port Canaveral (Nov 12-19).
Thanks sooo much Don, much appreciated!
Have a wonderful time.
Thanks Oliver

Thanks so much Daniel for these insights!
I'm about to sail the same tour you've made next Saturday on board the EPIC, so these topics helped me a lot :)
Two quick questions:
1.) On which deck you've boarded? Or have you seen on which deck the new cruisers has boarded yesterday on Terminal 10?
2.) Is there a place where you can store your luggage when you cabin is not ready? I've seen it on other ships that they've opened a restaurant or similar for the short time storage.
Also: do you have any bartenders you'd like to mention by name, for excellent service?
Thanks Oliver

If you happen to have the Dailies still for this sailing, I bet there's a bunch of us who would love to see them. :D
Don has promised to post them, but please give him some time to breathe [emoji6]

Looks like Epic is at Terminal 1, I thought Epic was using terminal 5 or a different terminal. Maybe it will on future sailings.
After this cruise the EPIC will arrive and depart from newly renovated Terminal 10!

Jade Live- Norwegian fjords from Hamburg to Southampton.
in Norwegian Cruise Line

All right, just coming back from our trip to the Norwegians Birthplace: there's a free shuttle from the harbour to the already mentioned church and from there it's only one block down and a half block right where the bus station is. The driver DOESN'T need the exact fare, a hundert NOK bill is fine for him: it's 35 NOK each way per person, that's around 4,50$ per trip. A daily pass will cost you 95 NOK each.
On the way back the bus station is exactly on the other side of the road, from there (and the way back of course) it'll take you 12 to 15 minutes walking time to the Norwegian Birthplace. The stop in the city is only 4 blocks down where the shuttle to the harbour will depart.
Everything has been easy, please calculate around 4hours minimum from leaving the ship until your return...
Hope that helps...
Cheers Oliver
