  1. Tested positive for Covid. Rebooked cruise. Looking for a letter of recovery as then I don’t need to redo testing. Our physician does not do these letters. No help there with suggestions. Any ideas of where to access letter in BC or from BC..? I see one online source working from Quebec. $119.00 . Anybody used them? Any suggestions as to how to find this out appreciated. What a confusing mess this testing is……how I long for the olde days! rant over!
  2. They do indeed do weekend virtual apts. if you are looking at May they are light in colour because they are full. I suspect it is airline tests for Americans returning to USA by plane from cruises, and Canadians going on cruises from the USA. I see your problem with July......too many people have found out the great fee schedule and are booked for weekend cruises and flights. They were very professional. Use the phone call number if you need to get info. Perhaps they have a workaround or are hiring like crazy! Perhaps a wait list is available? Good luck.
  3. Just did the test. Beyond easy and very helpful Andrew was our guide. Results in 15 minutes after we finished the two person test. The test itself was done and being read within 5 minutes of the start. Very impressed. Not impressed with my positive result, but was expecting it as we had done a self test 5 days ago and it was positive.T his was our 2 day prior proctored test. Have cancelled cruise for Wednesday and working on a rebook for mid June. Alaska on HAL. see lifecenter iis booking up….plan ahead. 25$ for two people is amazing. Good professional report with all the info required. Calgary based, so no communication difficulties. Highly recommended.
  4. Hi lost4 sure! Yes, the green box from BC pharmacies. We are on HAL next week out of Vancouver. Seems to me nobody is having any proctored test questioned as long as it is dated, name identified of patients, has all the magic words and especially NEGATIVE! Plan on using it for Princess in the fall if it is still required. drove through Duncan yesterday on way home to QB from Vic! happy travels.
  5. Got an appointment booked for next Monday. Question…can it all be done with a tablet, or do you need a smart phone too. Trying to figure out how they watch you do it all, then keep an eye on the finished tests for 15 minutes with only one device. obviously there is a way! Can’t find anything online except how to do the test…got that…just wonder about the transfer from watching people do the test, to watching the tests lay there for 15 minutes? Thx. This may not make sense…..I understand what I am asking! It will happen, and then I will know!
  6. Just saw on the Princess site that Princess has also discontinued complimentary antigen testing in Vancouver for Americans flying back to the USA after an Alaskan cruise. What a mess. Please remember this has nothing to do with Canadian requirements. It is the USA who demands this testing. You can, however, cross the border by car without a test if you are vaccinated. Good luck to all. Looks like online proctored tests are the best bet if you have internet access.
  7. Short west trip, glad HAL did themselves proud at least in the check in!
  8. What a wonderful attitude and insight into the mindset of people who know how fortunate we are to be among the truly privileged…….and stated so beautifully Thank YOU!
  9. Thank you for this link. Good advice on Trip advisor……will certainly try this method, while checkin* further. Good helpful tip!
  10. There is no ferry from Seattle to Vancouver that I’ve ever heard of…they are both on the mainland! Wishing you well…..
  11. FWIW I understand the ArriveCAN info is automatically attached to your passport when you get the receipt for it. Therefore when your passport is scanned they get that info up too…no need to ask you about it.
  12. We are on this mid May……soooo looking forward to the stories and impressions…..have a wonderful voyage and thanks for the preview of life back on the sea!
  13. We would like to rent a car or a car @nd driver to explore some of ELuthera. We have spent some time there in the past and want to revisit a few spots. Any ideas or connections? Thx.
  14. Hope your trip to the start of this adventure goes well. Looking forward to travelling along with you. No questions….just happy to be involved. Enjoy it all.
  15. Millbrook, looks like you are in for a delightful voyage! We are looking forward to one ourselves in a month, and otherwise will watch them go by in the early evening from the beachfront for the entire season!
  16. Look carefully at the maps used by the carrier in their ads. The inside passage between Vancouver island and the mainland is not used by larger ships such as the majestic or sky princess. The route is narrow, the Chanel subject to intense tidal fluctuations and if you add a good wind on the side of a large ship you could get trouble. In our opinion the voyage from Vancouver using the inside all the way is VERY much more awesome than days at sea knowing there is an island out there somewhere as you head north in the Pacific Ocean. Admit huge bias as we live here!
  17. Mmmmm…..wonder what the 12-17 extra fee is for? Perhaps for national park visitor entry? Will be careful to ask….should not be extra fee to leave by taxi if it is, in fact, an entry fee. Thanks got the extra infoJT.
  18. I knew this would happen. I tried one last time and found it! fs.usda.gov $5.00 per person. under 15, free. Various passes etc available too. Good read of all there is to see and do. Your welcome!
  19. Plan to take taxi to mendenhall glacier from downtown. Used to be a fee to go into centre to see exhibits, movies etc. well worth it. None of the transfer shuttles make mention of fee being included in their cost. Cost is high for 20 minute trip each way, so I think it must be included. Cannot find info online anyway I try to find out. Help appreciated.
