Is my rate code on the original booking confirmation or anywhere else wherecI can see it or would I need to call to find out what is is? Booked so long ago, I don't remember what what we booked. Likely Early Saver, but not certain.

We're now under 30 days to sail date.

You would need to call... the rate code doesn't show in your booking anywhere which makes it difficult I know

Kinda kicking myself cuz I've seen several price drops (and increases) for our cabin category on upcoming B2B Venezia and didn't submit a request  - just griped. One was really significant.

In the back of my mind I knew there was a request form, but I also remember seeing something that said guarantee price for 48 hours, so I didn't think it would apply.

So used to HAL where there's no form, you just call in and they do it.

Oh my that is sad!  I watch mine all the time and will submit the form or call my PVP even if it is $20.  I figure better my pocket to spend on board.  Sadly, mine just keep going up.

If you have a good PVP a lot of times it just take a call to them and the form is easy to fill out.

It does all depend on your rate code though.  Not all rate codes qualify for the price match (after the 48hr guarantee already mentioned above).  Early Saver does for sure, and you can price match right up to the time you sail basically.

  3. I have found that if I am changing to something that is a little more expensive they are far more agreeable to waiving the change fee (50/pp), but again it depends on your rate code you booked under and if you are within the payment cut off time frame or not as to what you might be penalized.  Some are completely non refundable.

If you try to change to a different cruise that is less money you likely will encounter more resistance and stricter adherence to the penalty policy.

Just an update on passport renewal times, for those that are waiting for theirs. I sent off for my expedited passport renewal on August 5 for an upcoming Panorama cruise in October, though mostly for a land based Mexico vacay in January since a passport isn't required for my cruise, and they received it Aug 9 (St. Louis to PA). On Aug 20, my status showed "Approved", and I had my passport the next day. I did not pay for priority shipping so the quick return surprised me. Less than two week turn-around surprised me even more, though! I wonder if the government is finally getting their act together...🤔🤣

    You got LUCKY!

    Oh nice!

I just booked a cruise yesterday for one that I’m ALREADY going on.

It fell off my booking list.   Lovely.

    Am I reading this right.

You rebooked a cruise you already had booked because you didn't see the original booking in your cruise manager 😲

I still don't under why such a huge company doesn't have an app that you can pull up your acct etc. Not the HUB app but an actual app

There have been many forum discussions on this one.  I will say, and seems to be a lot of consensus on it, with the "issues" they have keeping their regular site operating properly adding an app to the equation seems disastrous at best 🤣

I was watching a video for extended balcony cabin 10346 and it has regular chairs on it. Our extended balcony on Mardi Gras had loungers. Is it possible to request loungers? Our plan is to spend a good bit of our time there.

We have had a balcony on another ship that was larger and would accommodate a lounger but only had regular chairs.  I asked our room steward the first day and he was able to have a lounger put on the balcony for us.

I don't think they would do this for a normal size balcony as there really is not a lot of room, but larger balconies a request doesn't hurt.

  8. When you go to buy your cheers package you will enter your gift card.  Once paid you will have the $75.54 balance left on the gift card.  You can make a note on it and then save it and use it next time as you wish.

If you want, you CAN also go buy yourself cruise cash.  You can not give yourself OBC.  However, cruise cash is sold in increments of $25, $50, $75, $100.  So you could buy yourself $75.00 in cruise cash.  That would leave $.54 on the gift card too.  This cruise cash is then "in the bank" like OBC when you get onboard.  However, if you do not use all the cruise cash you buy you lose it.  There are ways to "cash it out" on board, but that is another discussion.  Be careful, and make sure if you do this you buy cruise cash and not the cruise BAR cash.  There is a difference.  Cruise Cash can be used on ANYTHING on board that you swipe your sail and sign card for (stores, bars, casino, etc).  Bar is just that, only for drink purchases at a BAR.

The easiest thing is just to take it with you with the balance left and then once on board the ship you can have it applied to your account via a kiosk or at guest services.

I myself do add "cruise cash" to my accounts as I know I will spend what I add and I personally like having the money in the bank when I get on board and do not have to worry about carrying/losing/etc. gift cards.  Once it is added to my account as cruise cash it is there and ready before I ever get on.  But to each their own.

You can also save it and use it for payment on a future cruise you may book as well if you think you will sail again.  It can be used on board, or for payment for the cruise cost itself.

Does Fly 2 Fun include the transfers from the Airport to the ship and back?

No, but you can purchase these direct from carnival if you want to.  Often though, depending on the port a taxi or uber is a better option anyhow.  Cost can be better and you don't have to deal with / wait for a bus load of people.

This is true, but if someone with the same category cancels, then price match opens up again. That is, until that cabin gets booked again.

So for those watching out for price matches, it's important to know the two-character code for your cabin. It'll be 2 letters or a number & letter. For example, an Ocean Suite on Vista is either a SS, OS, or JS. There has to be cabins available for your specific code in order to be eligible for a price match. I've gotten price matches after the cabin category had sold out, then someone cancelled, but you have to check often to catch that because it usually sells out again soon.

You are correct, because if someone in the category cancels then the category is no longer sold out. 😁

As long as at least one room is open for that category at a lower price you can price match.

Well she couldn't fix the part with the gratuities going up but I don't mind that so much because the crew gets it. At least I got $83. Every little bit helps. That will buy a few drinks or an excursion. Hopefully this helped someone else.

Good example... any change now you have to make sure you compare apples to apples, because it can be a domino effect as to what may change if you switch. Glad it worked out and you are getting some $ back 😁

Not drugs, and not really even related, but what the heck.   My nephew got pulled aside when a dog smelled the hat made of banana leaf in his luggage.   He didn't realize it was considered one of the banned items.

A lot of people don't realize that one.  Especially when you get off in ports like Cozumel.  The dogs they have there are fruit sniffing dogs, not drugs.

They are looking for and worried about the fruits, vegetables, etc. that may be harboring insects coming into the country.

Yeah that's where I looked and it's not there. Yes I was surprised to see it because it's on a Vista Suite and those have been sold out for a long time now. I guess someone canceled.

Then Houston, you have a problem.  If it was approved, it would be showing there.

IF they just sent you the email, I would give them a day or two to process it to your account.  Just in case there is a lag.  Otherwise, I would start calling our emailing your PVP if you have one.

The other concern I would have is, I am not sure what your email specifically said.  But hopefully they didn't change something else on you.

I had that happen a long time ago, submitted a price match guarantee and just wanted it back is OBC, instead they moved me to a different category of room as my price match.  If your room was sold out, hopefully they didn't do this and you have a different room now.  Did you check to make sure you were still in the same room?

Also, for others that might read this, price matches MAY negate any other "special" things you had with your original booking.  So if you had DOU or say different OBC, they may price match, but you then are booked under a new booking code and often will lose all the associated perks from your first code.

If there was no rooms available in your specific category then there should have been no price match available if you submitted a form. They will only price match IF the same exact category of room is available at a lower price.  Every other room type on the ship may go down in price, but if your category is sold out there is NO price match to be had.

  14. It should be  in your booking...and yes you can use it before.

They don't make it easy to find.

Log in and go to your booking, go to booking order and details, under your names it should say "Paid in Full", click on view invoice details.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and there will be a box that shows the amount.

When you go to book stuff it should prompt you with "you have OBC to use, would you like to use it" and follow the prompts.

Early saver gets you price changes basically right up to sailing, so keep checking.  Price drops are few and far between now, but watching can pay off.  😛

They could easily start by requiring cruisers bring the invitation with them again if that proves to be a problem.

Exactly.  Back in the day, they had someone by the door and they would just ask to see the invite and how many people were actually walking through the door.  Would curb the excessive misuse of the intended purpose of these events.

While that is indeed the rule, I got a pool deck server to get me a bucket of beer while out on the Lido deck on while having Cheers package on the Breeze a few weeks ago. Tipped him an additional $10 and took the bucket back to the room lol. So I would say there are some exceptions to the rule. Idk how they get around it at the register, but this server did.

You may have got away with it, but I would not expect to bank on this happening.  Cheers does not allow for bucket purchases.

  17. So I just received a phone call back from the last Fun Ship rep I had been talking with about this too.

She confirmed these are valid refunds and they are from sailings we had to cancel in September of 2021.

*****?  I guess they are really scouring their books.

I still say I received all my refund and someone in their accounting department is goofed up.  Oh well, more money for me to spend.  They will get it back anyhow lol!

I got one today, too, but here's the odd part. We had 2 cancelled cruises (due to covid) back in Jan. '21 and March '22. I thought we got all the necessary refunds for both, but this new gift card amount just so happens to be for the same amount of Cruise Cash I bought for the Jan. '21 cruise, so I have to assume that's what it's for. I just don't know why it took them over a year and a half. But back then, they sent multiple return gift cards and I could've swore I did the math at the time and we got everything back.

Yep, I got an email back yesterday evening saying it was refunded amounts on 2 different cruises that were cancelled last year.  This is the 3rd one of these I have gotten.  I am with you though.  Part of my job is accounting and I am usually 100% on the spot with every penny I am owed, and I closed out all my cancellation issues last year as paid in full.

Quite honestly, I think they are goofing and giving us more money back then what they should be.  This is twice now I have called and emailed about it though, and they just keep telling me it is money they owe me.  They also did advise they were still cleaning up stuff from Covid cancellations and this is what these were for.

So... if they want to give me free money - Oh well I guess.  I can't do anything more.  I keep telling them I think you are issuing me refunds for monies I am not owed, and they keep telling me they are valid monies owed to me.
