  1. On our scheduled transatlantic on the Explorer leaving in 2 weeks, we took the Regent business class to Lisbon but did our own return to BWI from Miami. It works out well for us, as we are doing first class for not more than the credit and alternative airport charge.
  2. Betty Explorer is scheduled for a dry dock at that time. We will be on the Explorer for a transatlantic on Nov. 23rd. I don't know what is scheduled to be done on this routine dry dock and would be pleased if anyone knows some of the details. Jay
  3. One other suggestion in Flam. We went on the Fjord Safari and it was the highpoint of our cruise. You go thru the fjords in a large inflatable in full survival gear and it was quite an experience, much better than we expected.
  4. Just thought I'd share a different idea for you. We stayed at the Alma Hotel, which is in the Eixample area of Barcelona, the newer area with upscale shopping and restaurants, as well as in walking distance of the Sagrada Familia and other Gaudi architectural masterpieces. It is also away from the craziness of Las Ramblas, yet easy to get to the old city when you want. The Alma is a modern renovation of an older building and had excellent service (I am not on the payroll of the Alma, we were just pleased with our stay there!).
