  1. The phone reps never know anything other than what they see on their screen. The standard answer is, “it will show up in a few months when we find out more.”
  2. We are booked (along with the rest of my extended family) on the Spectrum of their Seas with a departure date of May 30, 2021 out of Shanghai. We booked this cruise in January. For weeks now I’ve notice that the ship’s itinerary is out for next Summer with a gap between 5/23 and 6/18/2021. Does anyone know what’s going on?
  3. I paid for a relative’s cruise deposit as we were all going on a cruise to Japan. They have never been in a cruise. We are all now cancelling and the cruise line will only give us credit (non refundable deposit). However the credit for his reservation will be under his name, not mine. It’s very likely they will never use it and I want the money or the credit back. Any ideas how can solve this? I thought that maybe if I change his wife’s name for mine on the reservation then the credit would also have my name. However I already a reservation in my name for my cabin. What to do??
  4. From what I understand when there’s a redeployment they rules change and they allow you to cancel without penalties. I am just not 100% sure.
  5. Corona virus aside - We had booked a cruise out of Shanghai late last year for next Summer of 2021. Before the virus news broke out, I noticed that RCL had taken the itinerary out of their dashboard, no longer offering it. I even called to verify and it was on “code red.” Which stands for redeployment. Then I read that the ship we are booked on “Spectrum of the Seas” was possibly going to be moved to another area. My question is, if RCL were to in fact change the ship/itinerary and we decide to cancel our cruise with the nonrefundable we paid for, how would RCL normally handle this?
  6. I know it’s over a year away but the news has us scared with the Coronavirus as it’s not slowing down. There will be 19 of us from my family in that cruise. We booked it about 3 months before the virus was well known and the ship is supposed to leave out of Shanghai. We booked with a non-refundable deposit but perhaps given the circumstances we could change it penalty free to a cruise to Northern Europe or somewhere else just as interesting. We have not called the cruise line and they have not sent us anything yet. my biggest concern is being in such confined space on a ship in the ar
  7. That’s what I am thinking too. That they change my existing booking on the Spectrum to the new Wonder of the Seas to Japan on 5/30/2020. We (and my group of 21 people) booked the first week the itinerary came out. The prices were unbelievable good. I will have to wait and see what Royal will change is to, assuming that is what this code Red is referring too.

  9. I think that they will replace Spectrum with Wonder for our cruise to Japan out of Shanghai. Now I wonder if the itinerary will be the same. I am disappointed because I wanted to try a Quantum class ship. We’ll see what they come up with.
  10. This explains why my sailing for May 2021 is now on hold and like the RCL Rep said “code red” for possible redeployment, I guess I will have to wait and see what happens to my booking.
  11. Thankfully I am already booked but RCL has stopped all bookings for our sailing in May 2021. They said it was coded red and alerted for possible redeployment. What does that mean? A possible change in itinerary? Different ship?
  12. This is on Spectrum of the Seas, cabin 7250. First time booking a single cabin as DH and child are staying home. The rest of my extended family is coming along so I won’t be by myself. Can’t wait!!!
  13. Does anyone when this week the itinerary sailings for Summer 2021 the cruises out of China will come out? They said this week but nothing so far today.
