The Volendam is not sailing a Panama Canal cruise for her Christmas/New Year's Cruise in 2019.  I am booked on her, sailing from Port Everglades on 12/20/19 for 16 days.  The closest we get to the Panama Canal is when we visit Curacao .

RKA, this cruise will be in December 2020

  2. On the 26th we will be sailing on Koningsdam in a Vista Suite.Today, our travel agent sent us an e-mail from HAL  with an offer for Club Orange on our sailing for 50$ a day. The perks are nice, but we don't feel paying the extra 50$ a day is worth it.We can use that money on an excursion.

  3. Good evening from a very travel weary passenger. This being our first ever cruise with HAL and Prinsendam,we just walked in and let go.All I can say at the moment,is wow, wow, wow!! Although she is an old ship you can really see her beauty. We loved sailing on her,and were amazed at the level of service provided daily. The staff is warm and friendly. Our room stewards were amazing. They just did it all, most of the time way before we returned to our room.We had cabin 216,one of the cabins in the newer section of deck 8.It was a very comfortable cabin. The engine room was2 floors below us,and occasionally it would get loud, but it was never annoying. The trip was beyond our wildest dreams. The weather was fantastic during the whole trip. Now to readjust to being back home. This was ourfirst trip to Europe, and its time for some shuteye. We already booked a 21 day Caribbean on the Koningsdam for 2020.I believe we've found a new home with HAL!:)

  4. Greetings! We too will be on the P-dam for this cruise and are looking forward to getting to know this ship after reading so many glowing reports. We'll be in your 'neighborhood' too #207.

I believe there are two self serve laundries. One on deck six and another on deck 10. Maybe we will cross paths in one of them. :)

Hi Paul, thank you for the laundry info, We looking forward to saying hello!:)

  5. Hub and I are quite excited. After trying 3 times in the past 3 years to get to actually do this trip,we are FINALLY going to make it. Last year we missed going by a week because I suddenly had emergency heart surgery. We are doing The British Explorer the end of this month, and I booked it after I came home from the hospital. It had such a great package included in the price, that I couldn't pass it up.We are on the Promenade deck in BC216,so I'm thrilled we have a nice rear corner view. I'm hoping that this room isn't going to be one of those dreaded add-on rooms I read about. I do have a question, are there any laundromats on the ship? I prefer to do my own instead of paying. I've read such great stories about this ship I can't wait to see her. This will be our first time going to Europe, and I hope the time doesn't pass to fast.!

  6. We're due to sail this Sunday (Christmas Eve) and flying with BA to join the Meraviglia. So far, I have no tickets of any description and now my booking has completely disappeared from the profile section on the website, even though I completed online check in ages ago and boughts drinks packages, dining upgrades etc!

I'm really starting to wonder if I should bother packing now? Is this normal for MSC?

I just went over to sign in,and thats changed. After you've signed in,click on MY Bookings, then click on MY Documents, and the etickets area should show for you. I hope that helps!;)

  7. I must say I've really enjoyed this thread. We had a 7 day cruise and airfare booked on Princess to head to both Scotland and Ireland. This our 3rd try,and it looked like it was really going to happen. Our trip was scheduledfor middle June.We had 2 days in Edinburgh, and had booked the tattoo, and all was great,or so we thought. In March I had an upside down EKG,so my doctor sent me to hubbys Cardiologist.I've always had good health, except for aches and pains or colds, nothing major. Second EKG was abnormal,so I went through lots of tests, with the the result being catheterization, and possible stents the end of May. The day of I was prepped, sent in to surgery, and put under. Somewhere a voice told me I was being life flighted for a triple bypass. Thankfully, all was a success. A few days after coming home,I had to cancel the trip for the 3rd time. What's the old saying "the third time is a charm"? It certainly was!! We decided the Tatoo wasn't a good idea.Hub was concerned about how I would be in a year. So I started looking around. The Princess trip was also on a small ship, and we liked that idea.I ended up here on Holland America.I saw the ad for the added perks if As far as I'm concerned this was meant to be,except for what I went through!!you sailed any one of the itineraries on Prinsendam.I was sold! The itinerary was 2 weeks and there were now 4 days in Scotland! BTW hubs male line goes back 5 generations there, and there are also some lines in Ireland. I also have an online friend in Pembrokeshire, and she's 15 minutes from Milford Haven. I can't wait for the end of June.

Kazoo,I really enjoy your posts. You're honest and helpful and I love that.Is it June yet?! Sorry for the long rambling post! Hello everyone!:D
