I've quickly googled getting to the beach but I thought someone with first hand experience would be helpful. As far as I can see, the cruise transfer pretty much drops off in Palermo which gives the option of exploring or going to the beach. We'll also be in Genoa, Naples and Marseilli. Would you recommend the beach any of those ports?

My family and I will be going on our first Mediterranean cruise in August. One of our stops is Palermo. The cruise offers a 'coarh transfer" to Mondello. How easy is it to just get a cab and go to the beach?

On our last MSC cruise one of my checked bags was flagged and I had to go claim it. They said it was probably because of my straightener. I mad a sad/annoyed face and got my bag (and straightener) bac without a problem. PS: straighteners are great for tough up ironing in a pinch. -
Has anyone ever switched from fantastica to aurea? I usually book fantastica with late dining which is what I did for our next cruise on the Grandiosa. I realized that means dinner at 9:30 which is too late. I don't want to switch to early dining because with my luck I'll be assigned 5:30. I want to switch to aurea so we can have any time dining.

You pretty much ruled out all of my cruise clothes! Luckily I have about 9 months to shop. Thanks for your response. -
My family and I will be in La Goulette on a cruise stop in a few months. I was hoping someone has recommendations for what clothes we , specifically my teenage daughter and I, should wear while in port and on tours. Thanks!

I laughed when I read your description of your son. It totally describes my 12 year old son. I read it to my husband and he actually asked if it was my post. I have two hotels booked for 2 nights prior to our August cruise. First is Petit Palace Boqueria Garden. It has family rooms with bunk beds. It seems to be far from touristy areas thought so I'll most likely cancel it. Second is Condes de Barcelona. This seems more centrally located but I needed to book 2 rooms for the four of us.
