Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We've done more than a few, they can be a lot of fun! But, it's total luck of the draw. You'll usually play a first round with around 20 other people all at their own slot machine. For 2-4 minutes, you'll press the spin button as fast as you can and build up a score. Top 3 (typically) go on to the next or final round where you'll do it all over again. Usually, they'll pay the top person in slot credits as said above, but they may pay the top 3 people. There are usually multiple tournaments throughout the cruise. On our last trip, the pre-purchase is essentially a coupon to turn in for the tournament you want to be in. You'll turn it in at the casino cage for a "token" to give to the tournament host. Sign up usually starts 30-60 minutes prior to the start time.
  2. We've just got the 90 day out email from the Shoreside Concierge and it was still Rachel listed, but maybe they haven't updated that yet for the Beyond.
  3. Thanks very much to you and everyone else for the info! I'm hoping my TA has his tour videos up soon, but I may reach out if I get too anxious to see some views 😄
  4. Hopefully I'm not thread jacking here. We have our first upper suite (RS on the Beyond) trip coming up in February so I've following this thread and been taking notes. I'd like to pre-book some nights in the specialty restaurants, but have been met with some resistance from our TA. She seems to be of the impression that we can only book our first night ahead of time and the rest once we get on board. I'm worried there wont be any openings in Eden (or others). Should I be pressing this issue more? We haven't been contacted, as of yet, by the shoreside concierge.
  5. Seconded - starting doing this years ago instead of the wrinkle spray. Get the shower running as hot as possible, hang up as much as you can in the bathroom, and close the door for a steam. Usually I'll give everything a tug and it comes out great.
  6. Haha, I'm so worried about this as well. Our "return" to cruising after covid was in December on the Reflection in Aqua (our usual) right after she started sailing again. We were at a literal 1 to 1 crew to guest ratio - amazing service and hospitality - and I've always been impressed with our service on X ships. We've got the bucket list trip coming up on the Beyond in a RS and I'm a little concerned it'll ruin "regular" rooms for us. Either way, we'll have an awesome time and will always feel excited to go on another trip.
  7. Awesome review and great pics! Got me even more excited for our trip on the Beyond in February
  8. Last ship sounding their horn wins per Captain Kate (whom I also had the pleasure of meeting on a prior cruise)
  9. Agreed. I have literally witnessed someone eat directly from a serving spoon and then put it back. When we had our first cruise after COVID back in December, I was thrilled to not have self service in Oceanview.
  10. We did that on our December cruise coming back to Fort Lauderdale. Flight wasn't due out until 5 or 6pm. Well worth it - had some fun and it was only 30 or 40 per person (which included the transfer).
  11. I've personally seen someone in a buffet take the serving spoon, sample the food directly at the station by using the serving spoon, then put the spoon back in the food... To their credit, the food was replaced quickly by the staff, but I was done with the buffet on that cruise after that. I was absolutely thrilled to have the buffet served by the staff on our December cruise on the Reflection. Fingers crossed it stays that way!
  12. Been looking around the interwebs and the forum for this, but so far haven't come up with it. Does anyone know what brand of mattress Celebrity is using in the Edge class suites (RS if it makes a difference)? I know Royal uses Dux in some of their nicer suites, but can't come up with anything on Celebrity.
