  1. How would the credit card not protect you? It has a travel benefit and doesn't exclude other travel agencies as it doesn't say that in the program guidelines.
  2. What is the "Big Box store?" I usually know that means places like Home Depot, etc. LOL
  3. Having the "cc" option is standard on all TVs but it doesn't mean that the programs themselves will be captioned, as it depends on the provider the cruise uses and such. Our last cruise on Celebrity a couple of years ago did not have captions working even though there is the cc option on the remote (again all TVs post late 90s have this built in). Thanks.
  4. Does anyone know if the televisions on Nieuw Amsterdam and closed captions on most, or all channels? Thanks.
  5. We got deck 8, so I'm pleased with everyone's feedback, especially the mention that the balcony was clear (see through) on deck 8!
  6. Thank you. We only received ONC for $50 so wouldn't lose much of anything. 😉 I'll keep an eye out on the cruise prices through different sites. Thanks!
  7. Can anyone help with updates to this? I spoke with this department and they said we need to find out own interpreter and pay for their airfare or they could "try" and find one but they don't work with any directly.
  8. So if a non-refundable deposit is made and the final payment isn't due until more than three months from now, and the price drops, can a TA (not through HAL) match the discount or possibly provide an upgrade? The final payment is due about three months before the cruise. Thanks.
  9. I don't think it was that. Sigh...I thought it was somewhere here.
  10. I can't find it but I thought I saw a chain of posts where people post the room number and reviews of that room for a specific cruise ship, such as Nieuw Amsterdam. Does anyone know the link to that? Maybe it's a different web site.
  11. Never been on Holland America before and plan on taking an Eastern Caribbean cruise and choose a balcony for the first time (we've ONLY ever booked inside cabins). We've been quoted a Verandah Stateroom (VF) and I think the only available ones are on the 4th or 8th deck and I think the front or back of the ship (sorry not the correct terms). I always like to prefer to be lower in the ship (like 8th deck) as it tends to be less movement than upper but is there any benefit to be up higher instead from a balcony view perspective? Thanks!
