  1. Glad you hated it! More cabin options for the wife and I! We love the Inspiration and Imagination. Being in San Diego, we routinely take this cruise every couple months. I find none of your cons to be an issue for us.
  2. Yes, my wifes goto drink is diet sprite, vodka and splash of cranberrry
  3. We've been on the Fantasy out of Charleston and routinely take the Inspiration and Inspiration out of Long Beach. We love this class. We've never had a problem of any sort on this class and frankly we prefer this size over the mega ships now. We enjoy enjoy just heading up to Long Beach and taking a ship we know like the back of our hand. You see some of the same folks more often and I feel you can get to know the staff better. We don't mind the larger ships and will be taking a larger NCL ship out of Boston next week but it's just not the same. We often take first time cruisers on the Inspiration and Imagination as it gives them a taste of what cruising it like without completely overwhelming someone. I wish we could get a Fantasy class ship permanently here in San Diego.
  4. Well, I think the hairy chest contest is better than the lipsync battle Carnival did on our five day to the Mexican riviera.
  5. The wife and I always do well with cheers. We will have a couple drinks with breakfast, then, with the exception of port days, pretty much enjoy ourselves all day. We never really get drunk because the drinks are spaced out and we drink plenty of water and eat all day. We get up and workout at 6am so and it never really affects us. We are bummed that the beverage package on NCL does not include bottled water or coffee drinks.
  6. Sorry folks...The life size towel animal out front should have told you.....
  7. We will be disembarking in Quebec and staying 2 nights. Anyone have tips for us. Places to see, dining, tours, transportation, etc? Appreciate any info.
  8. Thanks everyone for your input. It helps in making dinner plans.
  9. Does anyone know if there will be tour vendors when we get off the boat in Halifax? We want to go to Peggy's cove, don't know if we should book ahead or wait and see whats available that day.
  10. Looking for info on how to easily get to Peggy's Cove. We are a party of 4, do we have to pre-book a tour or will there be tour vendors at the port?
  11. We are going on the NCL Gem in September. Anyone have info on showtimes for the nightly big show. Will there be a early & late show?
  12. I haven't cruised on Princess since the drink package came along. I have gotten the package as a promo on Norwegian and Celebrity. I have only ever bought it on Carnival. On Carnival you have to purchase the cheers package for all in stateroom over 21. My friends sailed Princess recently and bought drink package, they said they only bought it for 1 of them and shared it. Is it true that some cruise lines don't make you buy the package for all in stateroom over 21?
  13. Some fitness centers are over rooms. Treadmills on some ships are not even turned on until 7am. I've seen idiots drop weights like they're at 24 Hr Fitness. 6am is fine for me. It's vacation. But my wife and I will sometimes do boydweight workouts on a quiet corner near the jogging track where we can do some exercises and mix in some cardio.
  14. Enjoy the high cost of roaming fees if you plan to use data on your mobile phone plan
  15. No matter what you choose, I'd recommend the "inside passage" out of Vancouver.
  16. My wife does our cruise booking so this is new to me but this sort of pricing tactic seems sketchy and best and illegal at worst. I remember here in CA, during Thanksgiving, the retailers would run pricing for the black friday ads but when people went into the store, or shopped online, there were non of those items available. If I remember correctly, the CA attorney general took action and the retailers were then required to have inventory for everything they advertised.
  17. Ugh, Europe with a 7 and 5 year old? The kids will be bored at those port of calls. I would advise against Europe.
  18. This might be better since it's smaller and has a pocket for a water bottle... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mens-Tactical-Military-Sling-Chest-Pack-Messenger-Shoulder-Camo-Molle-Travel-Bag/123252834204?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D57475%26meid%3D06ed5b485b584fe699d190251e633843%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D173183401311%26itm%3D123252834204&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851 At $12, you really cant beat that price
  19. lol, no. I have a couple of them and use them for all manner of things from work, hikes, travel. If you look around ebay, you can get smaller ones. I've given them to middle school relatives and they loved them because they look cool and not like a boring messenger bag or worse, fanny pack.
  20. I would agree. Guy sounds like a really fun person. My wife and I are comfortable enough to take the higher end cruises but frankly, we don't want to. We enjoy partying and having a great time on Carnival versus the uppityness of Celebrity. We think the entertainment on Celebrity is awful.
