  1. Yay! I really enjoy your live reviews. The last week in August is my favorite week to cruise as well, mainly because of schools being back in session, yet it’s still summer weather, so nice and hot in most ports. Can’t wait for the live review to begin! Enjoy your cruise.
  2. Thank you so much for sharing your story of the injury. It’s amazing to see just how much damage was done to your leg and that you were able to keep so calm during that ordeal. I can’t believe that you thought enough to photograph your ankle while you were on the ground. Wishing you a very speedy and pain free recovery. Take care of yourself, Kim.
  3. Oh no! That’s awful. Like others, wishing you a speedy recovery. If there’s a bright side to this, at least it happened AFTER your cruise rather than before, or worse, during your cruise. Either way it sucks, hopefully you’ll be back (literally) on your feet soon.
  4. I did the South Beach tour with airport transfer. As I mentioned above, it’s been a few years since I did it, so I don’t recall every detail. You board a tour bus right at the cruise port and are given a narrated tour of the sights of Miami while being driven to the Art Deco district of Miami. The bus lets you off at the area of the main streets (Ocean Drive, Collins Avenue, Lincoln Road) to shop, eat, walk to the beach, sightsee, basically whatever you want to do for about an hour or so. The nice thing is that your luggage stays locked up on the bus so you don’t have to lug it around with you. After the free time, the bus drops off at both airports ( MIA and FLL). As far as the cost, you’d have to check Carnival’s site to see what they are charging. It would be listed under shore excursions/airport transfers.
  5. I did the South Beach tour and thought it was a great way to kill a few hours prior to my afternoon flight. The great thing about purchasing a Carnival excursion is that they store your luggage for you (on the bus) while you’re on said excursion. It’s been a few years since I did the excursion but if I recall correctly, they drop you off at the airport around noon-ish ( I might be a bit off on the exact drop off time, but it wasn’t much later than that).
  6. This is correct. The bacon on the Pig Patty is simply a piece of bacon (maybe two pieces) that have been formed into a circle. The servers simply place the bacon on top of the regular burger patty. Additionally there is a toppings bar for Guy’s burgers that also has cut up bacon that you could put on your burger. To answer your question, yes, the servers will put both an onion ring and a bacon “patty” on your burger if you ask them to.
  7. $541pp inside? Geez. That’s a website I’d be interesting in seeing. Never heard of it. How does one find this “not allowed” to be mentioned site?
  8. Same thing happened when I was on the Dream several years ago, while we were docked in St. Maarten. It didn’t affect our departure or our cruising experience.
  9. FLL is so close to Port Everglades. I just checked my Lyft app and saw that we were picked up at the port at 9:35 am and dropped off FLL at 9:45 am. We took our time getting off the ship and were at the airport in plenty of time for our flight that was before noon (it was 11 something but I don’t recall the exact flight time).
  10. ⬆️⬆️ Great attitude!!! Enjoy your cruises and Happy Anniversary!
  11. I’ve used both. Like a previous poster mentioned, cruise cash is already loaded to your sign and sail account when you board the ship. Gift cards have to be loaded to your account, either at check in or once onboard. Cruise cash can be purchased in smaller denominations, starting at $25, while gift cards start at $100 denominations. Some posters on here will tell you to “never” buy cruise cash for whatever reasons, but I’ve used cruise cash and found it to be very convenient. I would be happy with either gift from a family member. I suppose it would depend on the gift givers budget.
  12. I’ve used a debit card on my last 3 cruises. Never had an issue with holds on my money. Yes, they put a $100 hold on your account, but just like credit cards, that hold is released as soon as I’m off the ship.
  13. I’ve never seen Cheers “on sale” but I suppose anything is possible
  14. Actually, the itinerary was changed for this sailing. Vista left Galveston yesterday, with three straight sea days, Costa Maya on Friday, Cozumel on Saturday, then two more sea days, arriving back to Galveston on Tuesday.
  15. How did you block the former PVP without blocking the current one? Whenever I get a call from my PVP, it comes up as Carnival’s number.
